Childbirth behaviors

Fertility, in addition to the biomedical aspect, is phenomena of social, economic and demographic changes. Social network were considered for understanding fertility behaviors and changes in the levels of fertility. This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between social capital and childbirth behaviors in Iranian women employees.

Clinical anxiety is common during the perinatal period, and anxiety symptoms often persist after childbirth. Ten to 30 % of perinatal women are diagnosed with panic disorder (PD)—far more than the 1.5–3% rate among the general population.

Young women exposed to pregnancy experience greater likelihood of childbirth- related morbidity and mortality, with some countries experiencing mortality rates among women aged 15 - 19 that are as high as twice that of women in their 20s or 30s (WHO, 1989). Physiological under-development increases the likelihood of prolonged or obstructed labor, which may lead to ruptured uterus and death for the mother or fetus (Network, 1994). Negative pregnancy outcomes also result in part from poor prenatal health behavior among young adults, particularly teenage schoolgirls.
