  • An on –farm trial was conducted on various farmers field in different villages of Araria district during financial year 2016-17. This trail was conducted to overcome weed infestation during cultivation of chilli in farmers field. It leads to reduction in yield; quality of produce is inferior as compared to better quality produce, increased the cost of cultivation due to manual hand weeding by laborers and reduced the benefit cost ratio. The trial was conducted in randomized block design with three treatments and ten replications.

  • A microbial consortium consisting of Azospirillum, phosphate solubilizing bacterium (Pseudomonas striata), potassium solubilizing bacterium, PGPR (plant growth promoting rhizobacterium) strain (Pseudomonas sp.   • The present study was conducted in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh. In present study, multi stage sampling technique was used for drawing the sample. Khargone block in Khargone district was selected purposively due to large area under chilli cultivation. From Khargone block 10 villages were selected randomly. From these villages 90 farmers were selected randomly using proportional allocation i.e. small farmer (4 ha.). The primary data was collected from selected respondents using pre-tested questionnaire, through survey method.

  • The study was taken up with the main objective of identifying and analyzing the adoption of package of practices by the Chilli farmers as recommended by the scientists of ANGRAU.   • The study was conducted on the assessment of management of chilli mites Polyphagotarsonemus latus Banks using Abamectin 1.8 EC. The study was carried as OnFarm –Trials at farmer’s fields in Sinduri village of Shahdol district (M.P.) during Kharif (2012-2013).   • An interactive survey was conducted during 2016-17 to document insecticide usage pattern adopted by the farmers of Karnataka state to manage polyphagous pest Helicoverpa armigera in different host crops growing areas. Among the different group of insecticides the most popular amongst the farmers were emamectin benzoate 5 SG (39.44 %), rynaxypyr 18.5 SC (27.22 %) and profenophos 50 EC (23.89 %). The dominant host crops for H. armigera different in the state were cotton, pigeonpea in Raichur and Kalaburgi, chickpea (Gadag), chilli (Haveri) and tomato (Kolar).

  • The present study was undertaken during the year 2015-16 in the selected two taluks of Raichur district of Karnataka state. Based on maximum area under chilli cultivation, two talukas were selected. From each taluka, three villages were selected based on maximum number of chilli growing farmers. From each village, 20 chilli growing farmers were selected thus constitute a sample size of 120 for the study. The data was collected from the respondents using structured interview schedule developed for the purpose. The data collected was analyzed and tabulated using appropriate statistical tools.

  • This study was carried out to examine the socio-personal, economic, psychological characteristics and entrepreneurial behaviour of king chilli growers in Peren district of Nagaland. Findings revealed that majority (71.67 %) of the respondent had medium level of entrepreneurial behaviour. Correlation analysis revealed that variables viz., income from king chilli cultivation and attitude of farmers had positive and highly significant association with the entrepreneurial behaviour of the respondents.
