Chlorophyll content in maize

Xem 1-8 trên 8 kết quả Chlorophyll content in maize
  • A study was conducted at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute’s greenhouse with 48 maize genotypes through hydroponic culture. Morphologically, plants behave differently in low phosphorus conditions than in normal phosphorus environments. Large augmented roots were found in the plant in low phosphorus conditions. The results revealed that chlorophyll contents, shoot length, root length shoot dry weight, root dry weight, leaf area, and root/shoot ratio might be considered critical traits for screening low phosphorus tolerant maize at the seedling stage.

  • The plant-microbe interaction effect of these bacteria, either singly or in combination, on growth and development of maize (Malviya Hybrid Maize 2) were also studied. The results reveal that the combination of BHU8 with RRE3 proved to be most beneficial and efficient with regards to many of the growth parameters like shoot and root length, number of leaves, shoot and root fresh weight, shoot, root dry weight and chlorophyll content.

  • A field experiment was conducted during Rabi 2015 in a Randomized block design (RBD) with three replications to screen 12 hybrid maize germplasm lines viz., Z630-1, Z630-2, Z630-3, Z630-4, Z637-1, Z637-2, Z695-1, Z695-2, Z695-3, Z638-1, Z638-2, Z638-3 along with three hybrid checks NK6240, P1O3396 and 900MGold. This study was carried out to screen the hybrid germplasm lines exposed to water deficit stress during the reproductive growth stage. The analysis of variance revealed significant differences among the test germplasm line for all the parameters recorded.

  • Yield being a complex character is governed by a large number of genes. To evaluate the relationship between yield and its components in maize through correlation and path studies a study was conducted. In present investigation, it was inferred that genotypic and phenotypic correlations among ten morpho-physiological and yield traits in maize lines were significant. The grain yield plot-1 was positively correlated with 100-seed weight, ears plot-1 , chlorophyll content, plant height, ear height and number of kernels row-1 indicating the importance of these traits in selection for yield.

  • A field experiment was conducted at Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur (Rajasthan) during kharif 2018 to study the effect of different fertility and zinc levels on growth, quality and productivity of maize in subhumid zone of Rajasthan. The experiment was laid out in factorial randomized block design comprising four fertility levels viz., control, 50%, 75%, 100% NPK ha-1 and four zinc levels viz., control, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 kg ha-1 . Results revealed that application of 100% NPK ha-1 and 6.0 kg zinc ha-1 applied in maize to significantly improved growth parameter i.e.

  • A field experiment was conducted with efficient isolates of endophytic nitrogen fixing bacteria i.e., Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus NFGS25 and NFGM5 which were isolated from the roots of sugarcane and maize, based on the results of pot culture studies on maize. NFGS25 and NFGM5 were confirmed by the molecular characterization using 16S rDNA method. At 30 DAS(days after sowing), the growth parameters such as plant height (52.17 cm), stem girth (3.53 cm), chlorophyll content (32.5), root length (60 cm), dry matter production of shoot (3.5 g per plant) and root (0.
