Mục đích của nghiên cứu này là đánh giá sự mẫn cảm với kháng sinh của 69 chủng vi khuẩn Riemerella anatipestifer (RA) phân lập từ vịt mắc bệnh nhiễm trùng huyết. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy vi khuẩn mẫn cảm cao với các kháng sinh như amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, imipenem và florfenicol, với tỷ lệ mẫn cảm lần lượt là 100%, 100% và 91,3%.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) threatens millions of people around the world and has been declared a global risk by the World Economic Forum. One of the important AMR mechanisms in Enterobacteriaceae is the production of extended-spectrum β-lactamases. The most common ESBL, CTX-M β-lactamases, is spread to the world by CTX-M-15 and CTX-M-14. Sulbactam, clavulanic acid, and tazobactam are first-generation β-lactamase inhibitors and avibactam is a new non-β-lactam β-lactamase inhibitor.

Streptomyces clavuligerus ATCC 27064, the industrial producer of the β-lactamase inhibitor clavulanic acid, carries 49 putative secondary metabolite gene clusters. These secondary metabolite gene clusters are distributed between its linear chromosome and the 1.8 Mb-plasmid pSCL4, a rich reservoir of bioactive compound gene clusters.

Antimicrobial resistance is a growing threat worldwide. Increasing resistance to third generation cephalosporins has become a cause for concern. The prevalence of extended spectrum–lactamases (ESBLs) and metallobetalactamases (MBL) among members of Enterobacteriaceae constitutes a serious threat to current -lactam therapy leading to treatment failure. A total of 276 Gram negative isolates were processed. ESBL was detected by phenotypic confirmatory disc diffusion test (PCDDT) using ceftazidime alone and in combination with clavulanic acid.

The detection of extended- spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) producing bacteria is important for infection control and epidemiological surveillance. The purpose of the present study was to compare two phenotypic methods for detection of ESBL positive Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae in urinary isolates. This study was carried out in the Department of Microbiology, Rama Medical College, Kanpur(U.P), India from November 2015 to August 2016.

A total of 300 milk samples from buffaloes were evaluated for mastitis and incidence of E. coli. Overall, 157 milk samples (52.33%) were positive for mastitis and out of these positive isolates, 27 bacterial isolates (17.19 %) were identified as E. coli. All the 27 isolates of E. coli were tested for in vitro sensitivity towards 15 antibacterial drugs.

To isolate common organisms from suspected cases of septicemia with their antimicrobial susceptibility pattern and know the prevalence of MDR strains by detecting MRSA isolates, ESBL, AmpC and Carbapenemase production. Blood samples were collected from suspected cases of septicemia and incubated in BacT/ALERT 3D. Subculture was done on Blood agar, nutrient Agar, MacConkey Agar and Chocolate Agar and identification was done by standard biochemical reactions.

The most common causes of death in neonatal period are infections (32%) including septicemia, meningitis, pneumonia, diarrhea and neonatal tetanus. It has also been documented that birth asphyxia contributes for 29% of deaths in neonatal period. Patients presented to department of pediatrics (NICU), were examined clinically by pediatricians and 122 cases of neonatal septicemia were identified on the basis of the signs and symptoms and were included for the study. This is followed by collection of blood for culture after obtaining informed expressed written consent.

In the present study 88 number of corneal swabs were collected from 8 different breeds of dog suffering from corneal diseases. All the dogs were presented to Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex of Odisha Veterinary College for treatment during the period from December 2018 to June 2019. The breeds consists of Non-descript (n=18), Pug (n=11), Labrador (n=10), German shepherd (n=12), Spitz (n=14), Golden retriever (n=10), Dalmatian (n=7), and Mastiff (n=6).
