Changes like the rapid increase in urbanization, population growth, developing gender sensitivity roles and the breakthroughs in science and technology would cause stress and added challenges to nurses working in high functioning health facilities. The many changes in society will certainly need nurses’ utmost struggle to respond to these pressure and stress.

Brucellosis is an infectious disease, has a considerable impact on animal health as well as socioeconomic impacts. It causes significant reproductive losses in sexually mature animals. The present study reports the isolation, identification and molecular detection of Brucella abortus. A total of 192 buffalo clinical samples were processed by cultural isolation on BBL Brucella agar plate with selective antibiotic supplements and direct PCR.

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is increasingly being isolated as a nosocomial pathogen. It is the third most common non-fermenting gram negative bacilli (NFGNB) isolated from the clinical samples especially from the respiratory specimens, blood, urine and pus samples. Though inherently resistant to many groups of antibiotics, its susceptibility to co-trimoxazole is a peculiar character, because of which Co-trimoxazole is considered as the drug of choice for treating these infections.

The dermatophytes are a group of closely related fungi that have the capacity to invade keratinized tissue (skin, hair, and nails) of humans and other animals to produce an infection. The clinical importance of identifying species of dermatophytes is to find out problem source of infection. Moreover, there are some prognostic considerations as well. The study was conducted at the Upgraded department of Microbiology, Osmania general hospital, Hyderabad.

Substance use disorders (SUDs) constitute a major health problem and are associated with an exten‑ sive psychiatric comorbidity. Personality disorders (PDs) and SUDs commonly co-occur. Comorbid PD is character‑ ized by more severe addiction problems and by an unfavorable clinical outcome.

A spam campaign consists of many related email mes- sages. The messages in a spam campaign share a set of common features, such as similar content, or links (with or without redirection) to the same target URL. By exploit- ing this feature, we can cluster spam email messages with same or near-duplicate content together as a single spam campaign. Spammers often obfuscate the message content such that each email message in a spam campaign has slightly different text from the others. One common obfuscating technique is misspelling commonly ltered words or in- serting extra characters.

I have suggested that unconscious elements of experience can be brought to consciousness, and that they may be aesthetically relevant even while they remain unconscious. But there is also the matter of those aspects of experience that remain in the twilight of consciousness: one is vaguely aware of them, but they are not vividly present within one’s experience. This lack of vividness might be thought to disqualify the experience from having an aesthetic character.

Although there are myriad possible moral and clinical objections to such a show. Intervention seems to be the next step in a growing wave of media products using addiction and recovery as plot devices. Several recent American television shows, such as The Sopranos, Dawson's Creek, and Law and Order, include central characters seeking recovery from substance abuse through clinical treatment and support groups.

Protein family databases obtain sequences fromone of the large protein sequence databases, most commonly SWISS- PROT with TrEMBL (Bairoch and Apweiler, 2000) but also PIR (Barker et al., 2000). They then apply an algorithm, either manual or automatic, to group the sequences into families. Each family is represented in one or more ways to facilitate both inspection by humans and comparison by computer programs. The most common representation is a multiple alignment of the family’s sequences, either with insertion and deletion (gap) characters or without.

trans-[PtCl2NH3(4-Hydroxymethylpyridine)] (trans-PtHMP) is an analogue of clinically ineffective transplatin, which is cytotoxic in the human leuke-mia cancer cell line. As DNA is a major pharmacological target of anti-tumor platinum compounds, modifications of DNA by trans-PtHMP and recognition of these modifications by active tumor suppressor protein p53 were studied in cell-free media using the methods of molecular biology and biophysics.

As shown above, the modern industrial system is a concatenation of processes which has much of the character of a single, comprehensive, balanced mechanical process. A disturbance of the balance at any point means a differential advantage (or disadvantage) to one or more of the owners of the sub−processes between which the disturbance falls; and it may also frequently mean gain or loss to many remoter members in the concatenation of processes, for the balance throughout the sequence is a delicate one, and the transmission of a disturbance often goes far. It may even take...

What happens when physicians become ill? How easy or difficult is it for physicians to relinquish the role of caretaker and to be cared for by others? What is unique about the psychological makeup of physicians, as well as the culture of medicine, that facilitates or impedes timely and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment? When doctors behave badly or out of character at work, what factors underlie such behavior, and what can be done about it? In assessing and treating physicians, what strategies are useful to assure accuracy while simultaneously diminishing morbidity and relieving sufferi...

The regular course was taken for two purposes: to allow him the right to practice unmolested, and, as he declared, that he might the more clearly “detect errors of the modern practice.” Armed with the certificate of right to practice and of good moral character, he set out to follow his chosen art, but not in the regular way. He leaned strongly toward the use of vegetable medicines as against what were then termed mineral medicines. In order to pursue his calling and also to spread abroad his views and practice, he opened a clinical school known as the United...

Science of brachytherapy is currently increasing in the field of cancer therapy. By virtue of the development of computer assisted technologies, we can reap the benefits of accurate radiotherapies more than ever, which enabled precise irradiation to a target safely avoiding unnecessary involvement of the surrounding normal tissue. Unlike teleradiotherapy provided by X-ray linear accelerator, brachytherapy utilizes radiation source placing inside or close to the target.

Of the historical events that have shaped the character of the specialty dealing with ear, nose, throat, head, and neck disorders, probably none has carried the impact as did the appearance of antimicrobial agents for clinical use. It is a story that continues to unfold even today with the appearance of new antibiotics every year and the continuing emergence of new strains of resistant bacteria. Such change gives our knowledge a short half-life, and perhaps in no other clinical discipline is reeducation as important as in the use of antimicrobials....

Brucellosis is a bacterial zoonosis transmitted directly or indirectly to humans from infected animals, predominantly domesticated ruminants and swine. The disease is known colloquially as undulant fever because of its remittent character. Its distribution is worldwide apart from the few countries where it has been eradicated from the animal reservoir. Although brucellosis commonly presents as an acute febrile illness, its clinical manifestations vary widely, and definitive signs indicative of the diagnosis may be lacking.
