The purpose of this research is to identify the relationship between the number of halal tourist arrivals of West Sumatra with economic growth by using the method of test and Granger cause testers Granger in the period 2000–2017. To review this written report, tourism growth is proxy with the number of tourist arrivals (LAR). While the economic consumption of income from tourism (LPAD) is utilized as a placeholder for the increase of tourism as the research.

This study examines the role of investment in Vietnam's short-term and long-term economic growth. The research method is based on the Granger test, Johansen cointegration, and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM), using the World Bank and General Statistics Office's economic data during the period 2000–2019.

The crude oil price fluctuation investigation is to explore the impact of crude oil price shocks on the countries’ economic growth. The Vector Autoregressive Model (VAR) was applied and the variance decomposition is to analyze the impact of the GDP growth due to the shock of the crude oil price.

The nexus between oil price and exchange rate for Bangladesh economy by using annual data covering from 1980 to 2018. Given the stationarity properties, the Johansen cointegration and the ARDL bounds cointegration tests find a long-run cointegrating relationship between the variables. We reveal that oil price granger causes exchange rate in the long-run but not in the short-run. According to DOLS and DARDL methods, an increase in oil price appreciates exchange rate by 0.40% and 0.30%.

The study uses the data of the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand over the period of 1995-2017 as gathered from the World Bank and Global Economy. The study uses Brush Pagon LM and Pearson CD to test the cross-section dependence among variables while Levin et al., (2002) panel unit root test to check the stationary in the data. Westerlund (2007) cointegration and FMOLS tests are applied to analyze the long-run relationship.

The study finds a cointegrating relationship between the variables. The study argues that the country is not experiencing the phenomenon of resource curse as oil rents are not negatively impacting economic growth in the long run. Using non linear ARDL method the study reports a higher rate of growth to a positive shock in oil rents as compare to negative shocks in oil rents. This hints at the resilience of the country as the country’s growth rate is less effected with the fall in oil rents. It is also assumed that mere rent seeking economies tend to have poor quality of institutions.

A large body of literature shows that resource-rich countries tend to have higher rates of autocracy and confrontation, lower rates of economic stability and growth as well as less developed human capital. On top of that, many studies are wary of the crowding-out effect of natural resource dependence by the rich-resource countries on human capital development. It is of great interest to determine how Malaysia as an oil abundance country manages its natural resource wealth to develop the human capital of this country.

India is once again facing the problem of rising price of crude oil since 2017 after enjoying low price since 2014. This period has also witnessed moderate rate of inflation in the economy. It is argued that rise in crude oil price also affect the inflation level in the country. The paper using data from 1970 to 2017 intends to examine the relationship between oil price and inflation level in the country. The paper has used Johansen cointegration method to investigate the long run association between the two.

This study aims to investigate the link of trade balance and exchange rate for the case of Thailand in different aspects by initially attempting to examine what factors determine the trade balance in Thailand and then to test the long-run relationship between the exchange rate and Thailand’s trade balance.

This paper employs the Granger causality test and finds that the linkage between tax revenue and spending is a bi-directional causal correlation. Furthermore, applying Persyn and Westerlund’s (2008) co-integration test allows for corroboration of existence of long-run cointegration linkages among outcome of economy and the three variables.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationships among returns of various sub-indexes in the Istanbul Stock Exchange by using various methods. In particular, we look at the extent to which various sub-indexes are cointegrated or not by using three different methods. For the first two, Engle and Granger’s (1987) single equation models and Johansen’s (1988) multivariate cointegration methods are the among the most commonly used methods for assessing long-run relationships.

Chapter 14 Unit Roots and Cointegration 14.1 Introduction In this chapter, we turn our attention to models for a particular type of nonstationary time series. For present purposes, the usual definition of covariance stationarity is too strict. We consider instead an asymptotic version
