The commercialization of mushrooms is critical because they have a short shelf life. For this reason, we investigated the effect of agar-agar and egg white protein on weight loss, polyphenol oxidase and catalase, protein content, total phenolics, total antioxidant capacity, respiration rate, ethylene production and storability of button mushrooms. Our findings suggested that the treatment of edible coating delayed remarkably senescence and maintained the quality of button mushroom.

Human being has strong and historic connections with plants to fulfill food, feed, and shelter. Moreover, human uses plants as medicine for the treatment of various diseases. Plants are chemical factories for the biosynthesis of the huge number of secondary metabolites (SMs) that are directly used as a medicine or indirectly used in the development of commercial pharmaceutical drugs.

In the study "Optimization of Agrobacterium-mediated transformation and regeneration for CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing of commercial tomato cultivars", we have optimized an Agrobacterium-mediated gene transfer and regeneration system for CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing in two commercial tomato cultivars for the first time. The effect of explant type, genotype, pre-transformation time, Agrobacterium concentration, infection time, and different co-culture periods of bacteria were evaluated to optimize the regeneration and transformation parameters.

In study "The first report about genetic diversity analysis among endemic wild rhubarb (Rheum ribes L.) populations through iPBS markers", genetic relationships among 80 wild rhubarb genotypes collected from some regions of Lake Van Basin, which are in the distribution area, were tried to be determined by iPBS marker system. At the same time, a commercial variety of R. rhabarbarum, which is a cultivated species, was used as control.

The objective of the study "Effects of some commercial products on root and crown rot caused by Phytophthora cactorum in apple cultivation" was to evaluate the effects of eleven commercial products (bio-pesticides, fertilizers, and activators) on P. cactorum by comparing plant growth parameters (trunk diameter, plant height, number of branches, and root dry weight). Trials were conducted according to a randomized complete block design with three replicates in a greenhouse in 2 consecutive years.

In the last decade, Laos’agriculture has been commercialized faster and has gained given achievements. From a self-sufficiently agricultural country, Laos’has become one of the net exporters of agricultural products. However, commercial agriculture in the nation is still less competive due to poor irrigation and trasportation systems; small-scale production, limited agro- processing, week linkages bettween stakeholders within value chains, etc.

Chromosome-scale genome sequence assemblies underpin pan-genomic studies. Recent genome assembly efforts in the large-genome Triticeae crops wheat and barley have relied on the commercial closed-source assembly algorithm DeNovoMagic. We present TRITEX, an open-source computational workflow that combines paired-end, mate-pair, 10X Genomics linked-read with chromosome conformation capture sequencing data to construct sequence scaffolds with megabase-scale contiguity ordered into chromosomal pseudomolecules.

The Marmara Sea has a large drainage basin that includes cities with heavy industrialisation and agricultural land use. Therefore, it is under the influence of significant anthropogenic activities that adversely affect the well-being of its ecosystem. The Marmara Sea is also an important fishing ground with many commercially important fish species. These fish species are also under the influence of the adverse impacts of anthropogenic activities. Fisheries catches in the Marmara Sea had experienced severe fluctuations since the onset of the 2000s.

The purpose of this research is to assess the flavonoid content and antioxidant ability of various cardamom fruit extracts (ethanol and ethyl acetate), particularly those of 4 indigenous Indonesian accessions, and to evaluate the correlation between the antioxidant activity performed by CUPRAC and DPPH assays and the flavonoid contents. The results will provide valuable information for future studies and use cardamom for commercial purposes in a plant breeding program.
