  • Thirty mungbean genotypes were evaluated for the estimation of genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance, correlation coefficient, and path coefficient analysis for yield and its component traits. A considerable amount of genetic variability was observed among all the genotypes for all the characters under study. GCV & PCV were highest for seed yield per plant, followed by harvest index, biological yield and number of pods per plant.

  • The present study was conducted during kharif, 2018 to evaluate 38 genotypes of mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek]with 12 different traits using general statistics, character association, principal component analysis and cluster analysis. The basic descriptive statistics had showed considerable variance for all the traits...

  • A field experiment was conducted at the experimental field twelve Mungbean (Vigna radiata L.) genotypes under water stress condition. A wide diversity among the genotypes in their root characters including yield was recorded. Genotypes varied from genotypes TBG-104, KU-12-13 root length was increased during moisture stress condition in both the years. But genotypes showed lower amount of root dry weight, pod dry weight along with number pods per plant and number pods per cluster in irrigated control as well as moisture condition.

  • Twenty mungbean hybrids were derived five lines, four testers, through linex tester mating design were evaluated to study the magnitude of relative heterosis, heterobeltiosis and standard heterosis for yield and nutritional traits. The magnitude of relative heterosis, heterobeltiosis and standard heterosis observed for seed yield per plant were 57.45, 53.67, and 51.04 respectively. Heterosis for seed yield per plant is manifested through heterotic response for most of the yield contributing traits in additive fashion.

  • In the present investigation a study was conducted to assess the nature and magnitude of yield attributing characters. The inheritance of the character viz; plant height and flower to pod ratio was controlled by additive gene action. The rest of the nine characters under the control of non additive gene action therefore the heterosis breeding is recommended to exploit the benefit of hybrid vigor. Heritability is good index of the transmission of character from parents to their offspring.

  • Growing inclination towards Zero Budget Natural farming (ZBNF) in India to reduce expenditure on external input and to reduce indebtness of farmers, a study was under taken on evaluation of Jeevamrut, prepared by mixing cow dung, cow urine, pulse flour, jaggery and soil, and its constituents for management of Alternaria leaf spot caused by Alternaria alternata in organic mungbean under cage house condition as well as against the pathogen in-vitro, as the disease is quite destructive in all mungbean growing areas of southern Rajasthan.

  • Rice based production systems in the sub-humid region (Purvanchal) of Uttar Pradesh are traditional, with low yield and low farm income, and they have largely missed out on the benefits of the Green Revolution. To enhance productivity, alleviate environmental and management constraints, and enhance farmers’ income in the rice–wheat cropping system of the sub-humid Purvanchal region, Uttar Pradesh, new approaches that are more productive and sustainable need to be developed.

  • The use of Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) has opened up fresh opportunities for enhanced seed production in pulses in particular which are often face limitations due to intrinsic and external factors. Therefore, an experiment was carried out inside the net house in cement moulded pots to determine the effect of crop growth regulators viz. Maleic Hydrazide, Gibberellin, Triacontanol, 2,3,5- triiodobenzoic acid and Cycocel, as foliar spray. The result indicated significant variations in foliage, canopy structure, floral initiation, pod setting, seeds per plants etc.

  • The present investigation entitled “Estimation of combining ability effect in mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) was carried out at College of Agricultural, Kharpudi, during kharif 2016 and 2017. The material for the present investigation comprised ten parents BPMR 182, BPMR 132, BPMR 21, BPMR 126, BPMR 75 and BPMR 38. Four varieties as females are BM 2002-1, BM 4, JL 781 and AKM 4. Were crossed in Line x Tester fashion to estimate the combining ability for yield and yield attributing traits in mungbean.
