Components of an artificial neural network

In this paper, a PCA and ANN-based face recognition system is proposed and implemented on a Coarse Grain Reconfigurable Computing (CGRC) platform. Our work is quite distinguished from previous ones in two aspects. First, a new hardware-software co-design method is proposed, and the whole face recognition system is divided into several parallel tasks implemented on both the Coarse-Grained Reconfigurable Architecture (CGRA) and the General-Purpose Processor (GPP).

The process of evaporation is influenced by a number of factors, the most common and important meteorological parameters affecting evaporation are solar radiation, temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and atmospheric pressure. There are number of models for the estimation of evaporation developed by investigators in different fields of study. The interrelated factors are incorporated into various formulae for estimating evaporation. Due to complex interactions between the components of the land-plantatmospheric systems the reliable estimation of evaporation are extremely difficult.

The study area is a macrowatershed of river Kelo, a tributary of Mahanadi River. In this paper, the results show that as the use of number of influencing variables increases, the accuracy increases. ANN technique gives accurate results in a very short period of time which makes the feasibility of this method. The results showed that the accuracy ranges from 93 to 98 percent with the different number of variables.

Forecasting of stream flow and ground water level changes became an important component of water resources system control and challenging task for water resources engineers and managers. The ground water level data and rainfall data of twenty years from 1996 to 2015 were collected. Artificial neural network (ANN) is used to predict water resources variable. The model was trained, validated and tested for randomly divided samples. The regression analysis shows good correlation between each other within the range 0.12 to 0.97 of Abhanpur block.

The water is an essential component of human life and survival of plants and animals. Estimation of evaporation is very important in arid and semi-arid region where the shortage of water occurs. It plays an important role for planning and management of water resources projects, necessary for scheduling of irrigation and in planning farm irrigation systems. It is a very important component of hydrologic cycle and water resources problems.
