Use of screw locking elements improves radiological and biomechanical results of femoral osteotomies
Dynamic compression plate (DCP) constructs provide inadequate fixation in cases of poor bone quality and early weight-bearing. Screw locking elements (SLE) are flat locking nuts placed at the end of the screw to prevent screw stripping from the bone, improving fixation stability.

Dynamic-locking-screw (DLS)–leads to less secondary screw perforations in proximal humerus fractures
Loss of reduction and screw perforation causes high failure rates in the treatment of proximal humerus fractures. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the early postoperative complications using modern Dynamic Locking Screws (DLS 3.7) for plating of proximal humerus fractures.

Metacarpal shaft fracture is a common fracture in hand trauma injuries. Surgical intervention is indicated when fractures are unstable or involve considerable displacement. Current fixation options include Kirschner wire, bone plates, and intramedullary headless screws.

Intramedullary screw (IMS) fixation was wildly used in fifth metatarsal base fractures (FMBFs) and the results were satisfactory. However, in the comminuted osteoporosis or small displaced avulsion FMBFs, anatomical reduction and stable fixation could not be achieved with IMS.

Biodegradable implants reduce the likelihood of further surgery for hardware removal and reduce the risks of associated infection and allergy. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy and determine the comparability of biodegradable magnesium alloy MgYREZr (MAGNEZIX® CS) compression screw fixation compared with standard titanium screw fixation in the surgical treatment of hallux valgus deformity.

Scaphoid fractures are the most common carpal fractures. They often need to be treated by surgery, where the use of a compression screw is the globally accepted gold standard. Surgeons may choose between different implant materials including titanium alloys, which remain in the body or are removed after healing.

Femoral neck fractures are one of the problems in clinical treatment. The prognosis is uncertain. Currently, No internal fixation method is superior to other internal fixation methods in the treatment of femoral neck fractures. Therefore, the internal fixation system needs to be further explored.

Timber is highly anisotropic. It behaves differently in diverse directions. Tension and compression perpendicular to the grain present a low strength with respect to the ones parallel to the grain. To compensate for the lack, the self-tapping screw is an excellent choice for reinforcing the timber. This paper focuses on the notched timber beam with the experimental and numerical results. In the first part, the experimental results of the unreinforced notched beams and the screw reinforced notched beams under bending load will be presented.

The MCC-HDPE composites were then compression-molded and the mechanical properties of the composites were determined. The thermal and morphological properties of the MCC-HDPE composites were characterized by using thermogravimetric and electron microscopy techniques, respectively.

Femoral shaft fractures are common in both the young and elderly due to high-impact trauma and low-impact trauma, respectively. Its treatment by indirect reduction through use of locking compression plates (LCPs) has been on the rise. The LCP possess several advantages in fracture fixation, combining angular stability through use of locking screws with misalignment correction and fracture reduction onto the plate through use of conventional screws.

SYM-METRIC ACTUATOR MODELS Sym-metric Actuator . Sym-metric Actuators with Anti-Backlash Feature Shell Cap Sym-metric actuators are available with anti-backlash nuts for applications where a reversal of loading from tension to compression is encountered. Anti-Backlash Features:• Reduction in the vertical backlash between the screw and the worm gear nut to a practical minimum for smoother, more precise operation and minimum wear. • Acts as a safety device, providing a dual nut load carrying unit, when the worm gear becomes worn. • Wear indicator for critical applications.
