An adequate boron amendment ensures not only ample fruit set, but guarantees optimum fruit yield with excellent quality in terms of juice content, ratio between total soluble solids and acidity, and fruit peel colour (Srivastava and Singh 2005). Very little information is available on effect of zinc and boron under agro-climatic conditions of Uttarakhand and no work so far has been done under tarai conditions with the cultivar Pant Prabhat. Therefore, it has become imperative to find out influence of zinc and boron on leaf nutrient status of guava.

Zinc-oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) has positive effects on the growth and development of plants at appropriate concentrations. This study aimed to test the effect of ZnO nanoparticles with concentrations from 0 mg/L to 5 mg/L individually or in combination with ZnSO4 on growth and development of in vitro Dendrobium officinal at 3 stages of shoot multiplication, elongation and rooting.

Stem rot of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) caused by Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc. is a serious fungal disease of groundnut. Conventional uses of fungicides are toxic to environment thus an eco-friendly new approach of management with nonconventional chemicals as seed treatment was undertaken. Seeds of groundnut were soaked in non-conventional chemicals namely, ZnSO4, ZnCl2, BaSO4, BaCl2, Cycocel and Indole Acetic Acid (I.A.A) @ 10-4 and 10 -5 Molar concentrations for 24 hours to evaluate its bio-efficacy against the disease.

In vitro evaluation of nutrients against mulberry root rot pathogen indicated that the ZnSO4 at 250, 500, 750 and 1000 ppm concentration inhibited the growth of Macrophomina phaseolina. The growth inhibition of 100 per cent was observed at 24, 48 and 72 h after inoculation in 1000 ppm concentration of ZnSO4.

The field experiment was conducted on Influence of different levels and concentration of micronutrients on growth and yield of Jamun (Syzygium cumini Skeels.) The treatment combination of 0.50% ZnSO4 + 0.20% Boron has recorded maximum increment in plant height (53.57 cm), plant spread in N-S direction (48.47 cm) and E-W direction (49.40 cm). Maximum stem height (0.44 m), canopy height (4.44 m), inter nodal length (2.80 cm), number of new flushes (256.60), leaf area (74.00 cm2 ), number of panicles per m2 in north (41.90), south (42.67) and west (38.
