This paper presents the results of reliability analyses of loadcarrying capacity of circular concrete filled steel tubes (CFST) using different codes. Four parameters that govern the load-carrying capacity of CFST were considered as variables. These variables include the yield strength of steel, the strength of concrete, the diameter of CFST, and the thickness of the steel tube.

This study presents a unified approach to simulate the behavior of rectangular concrete-filled steel stub columns incorporating high strength and ultra-high strength materials subjected to concentric axial compression. The finite element model is developed based on Abaqus software, which is capable of accounting for geometrical nonlinearity, material plasticity, and interaction between multi-physics.

This paper presents a numerical analysis of the seismic behavior of square concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) columns. Finite element analysis (FEA) models in ABAQUS software were used to simulate a series of columns subjected to axial compression and cyclic lateral loading. The CFST columns were simulated using nonlinear tri-dimensional (3-D) finite elements for the infilled concrete, and nonlinear two-dimensional (2-D) finite elements for the steel tube.

Mô hình 3D của cấu kiện CFDST có hệ neo chống cắt dạng đinh mũ được xây dựng và phân tích sử dụng phần mềm ABAQUS. Mô hình PTHH của cấu kiện CFDST được kiểm chứng bằng kết quả thí nghiệm.

Concrete filled tubes (CFTs) composite columns have many economical and esthetic advantages, but the behavior of their connections is complicated. Through this study, it is aimed to investigate the performance and behavior of different connection configurations between concrete filled steel tube columns and bracing diagonals through an experimental program. The study included 12 connection subassemblies consisting of a fixed length steel tube and gusset plate connected to the tube end with different details tested under half cyclic loading.

An experimental program was conducted to investigate the effect of shear connectors’ distribution and method of load application on load–displacement relationship and behavior of thin-walled short concrete-filled steel tube (CFT) columns when subjected to axial load. The study focused on the compressive strength of the CFT columns and the efficiency of the shear stud in distribution of the load between the concrete core and steel tube. The study showed that the use of shear connectors enhanced slightly the axial capacity of CFT columns.

This paper introduces experimental study on mechanical behaviour of an ultra-high strength concrete (UHSC) at elevated temperatures and then a simple calculation method to predict the fire resistance of tubular column infilled with the UHSC. The cylinder compressive strength of the UHSC was 166 N/mm2 at room temperature. The compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of the UHSC were measured up to 800°C.

Bài viết sử dụng phương pháp mô phỏng phần tử hữu hạn (PTHH) để nghiên cứu khả năng chịu uốn của cấu kiện ống tròn hai lớp thép nhồi bê tông (Concrete-Filled Double skin Steel Tubes-CFDST) có mối nối ở giữa dùng để liên kết các cấu kiện có kích thước lớn ngoài khả năng vận chuyển. Mô hình mô phỏng PTHH của thí nghiệm uốn 4 điểm trên cấu kiện CFDST có mối nối được xây dựng bằng phần mềm ABAQUS và được chứng minh là đúng bằng cách so sánh với thí nghiệm.

The corresponding design ultimate bending moments of the CFDST with regard to the design codes AISC and EC4 were also computed. The results revealed that EC4 and AISC can accurately predict the ultimate moment capacities of the CFDST with shear connector.
