he field experiment was conducted to study the varietal preference of okra shoot and fruit borer, Earias vittella (Fab.) under field condition in Konkan region during summer 2016 and 2017 at RARS, Karjat. There were eight varieties viz., ArkaAnamika, Akola 10, Akola Bahar, PhuleUtakarsh, GOA-5, ParbhaniKranti, Panjab, Padmini, and VarshaUpahar (as a check) were screened for their relative susceptibility to okra shoot and fruit borer under field conditions. Among the eight genotypes/varieties of okra, none of the cultivars was found to be free from pest infestation in the year 2016 and 2017.

The study on “Incidence of sucking pests and natural enemies in cotton under high density planting system (HDPS)” was conducted at RARS, Lam, Guntur during kharif, 2016-17 to observe the incidence of sucking pests such as leafhoppers, aphids, thrips and whitefly and also the incidence of natural enemies (Spiders and Coccinellids). Among the sucking pests thrips population was found dominating other sucking pests during initial days of crop growth period i.e., up to 90 DAS there after aphid population was dominated i.e., from 90- 135 DAS both in normal and HDPS.

The study on “Incidence and Management of Cotton whitefly, Bemisia tabaci Under High Density Planting System (HDPS)” was conducted at RARS, Lam, Guntur during kharif, 2016-17 to observe the incidence of whitefly under HDPS and to determine the efficacy of flonicamid 50% WG, diafenthiuron 50% WP, acephate 75% SP, monocrotophos 36% SL, fipronil 5% SC, buprofezin 25% SC and imidacloprid 17.8% SL under HDPS. There is no significant difference was observed in the incidence of whiteflies in both normal and HDPS. Among the tested insecticides diafenthiuron 50% WP @ 1.25g.

The present investigation was conducted to evaluate the sixty foxtail millet germplasm to access the nature and magnitude of genetic variability for yield and yield component traits. A field experiment was conducted at Rice block in RARS Warangal, during Rabi-2015-16 and 2016-17 to study the rescheduling of fertilizer doses in Rice for Central Telangana. The results revealed that the non significantly higher grain yield and significantly, higher straw yields (6816 and 6187 kg/ha, respectively) were recorded by the application of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium 150%-100%-100% (180-60-40kg/ha) recommended dose over the others.
