The low cost and rapidity of microsatellite analysis have led to the development of several markers for many species. Because in non-invasive genetics it is recommended to genotype individuals using few loci, generally a subset of markers is selected. The choice of different marker panels by different research groups studying the same population can cause problems and bias in data analysis.

The present investigation entitled, Phenotypic and Genotypic path coefficient analysis Studies in Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) was conducted at Agricultural Research Station, Badnapur, Dist- Jalna (VNMKV, Parbhani) ( M.S.) during Rabi season of 2019-20. The exploration of genetically variable accession or genotypes is the key source of germplasm conservation and potential breeding material for the future use. The highly divergence group of cultivars provides an opportunity to breeders for developing superior and new varieties considering their quality traits for direct commercial utilization.

In this study, genetic richness and relativeness of 10 jewel orchid accessions collected from Ho Chi Minh City and nearby region were evaluated by using 20 Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) primers. Our results reveal that there is a large variation of genetic background among studied jewel orchid accessions. The combination of different RAPD markers found in this study could help to identify four jewel orchid genotypes.

Molecular characterization is helpful in understanding the phylogenetic relationship among various germplasm to reveal the genetic diversity among the used parental genotypes. Among several efficient methods for revealing genetic variability within and among plant populations, one of the most widely applied methods is ISSR marker analysis. ISSR, markers are commonly used because they are quick, simple and environment non-sensitive enabling genetic diversity analysis in several types of plant material like natural populations, population in breeding programmes.

Pomegranate can be propagated by seed, air layering, grafting, shoot cuttings and tissue culture. Seed propagation is used to raise the rootstocks that can be utilized for germplasm conservation and rootstocks breeding purpose. Vegetative propagation methods are used to multiply selected genotypes that bring similar character in form of clones having similar characters to mother plant. Vegetative propagation techniques (hard wood cutting, layering) are practices to raise the saplings for commercial production in pomegranate, because it perpetuates all characteristics of each cultivar.

Lack of recommended or released variety of high yielding as well as good keeping quality in the country, it creates price fluctuation during off season arrival period. To meet out the domestic requirement and also to fulfil the export demand, selection of high yielding genotype under different agro climatic condition is necessary.

Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri L.) belonging to the family Scrophulariaceae is an endangered perennial, glaburous, succulent creeping herb of great medicinal importance. Increased demand of Bacopa based drugs makes natural populations of this herb vulnerable to overexploitation. It is therefore essential to optimize and scale up in vitro multiplication protocols for conservation and multiplication of wild and cultivated germplasm. Nodal segments with axillary buds of an elite Bacopa genotype, were surface sterilized and inoculated to initiate aseptic cultures on 0.

Microsatellites are tandemly repeating motifs of 2- 6 bp in length, found in genomes of almost all eukaryotes. Due to their properties they have become an indispensable tool for biodiversity analysis and conservation management in wild natural populations. In this current paper, we have reviewed some of the major applications of microsatellites in wildlife conservation. The present study discussed with the role microsatellites can play in management of natural populations for conservation and the difficulties that are encountered during their field application.

Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is having enormous diversity in its taste, flavour and fruit form. Their taste and flavour were unique to particular region. The Western Ghats region of Karnataka is having large diversity of unique pickling type mango, called Appemidi (tender mango). Because of unscientific management and with rapid deforestation in several of these areas, an exploratory survey was conducted in Western Ghat regions of Chikmagalur to conserve these unique types and also to review the morphological traits.

Characterization of cultivars using bio-chemical markers has been successfully used for selection of improved cultivars in mango for breeding programs. The study was conducted at Horticultural research station, Venkataramannagudem for evaluating the variability of mango cultivars to conserve the elite ones and to identify the superior genotypes based on fruit bio-chemical markers for future crop improvement. Thirty four cultivars were characterized using bio-chemical fruit markers in subsequent years to know the genetic diversity in mango.

Mango is one of the most important fruit crop of India due to its massive diversity in its flavour, aroma, taste and fruit form. Western Ghats region of Karnataka is having huge diversity of aromatic pickle mango called appemidi. The appemidi mango is used for pickling purpose because of its unique character like flavor, taste and good keeping quality. Number of appemidi trees is decreasing due unhealthy harvesting, de-forestation and hydroelectric projects. Exploratory survey was carried out in Western Ghats region of Belagavito conserve the genotypes.
