Corporate governance mechanism

The study is interested in analyzing the direct relationship between supply chain management, and corporate sustainability and between sustainable supply chain and corporate sustainability. In addition to that the current study is also interested in examining the moderating role of sustainable supply chain governance in the relationship between supply chain management and corporate sustainability.

The importance of supply chain governance mechanism has grabbed the attention of academia due to massive corporate scandals in 21st century. The following study is aimed to investigate the supply chain governance mechanism in Iraqi corporations at first stage and develop the relationship between supply chain governance with quality of financial reporting at second stage. The objective of this study is to provide empirical evidence on how boards of directors, one important internal governance mechanism, can affect the level of bank risk. Using a sample of 21 listed commercial banks in Vietnam over the period 2007-2022, this research finds that board size, the education level of board directors and the representation of women directors have negative impacts on bank risk-taking.

This study aims to analyze the relationships between corporate-governance mechanisms and audit quality of Vietnam listed firms. Based on a sample of 221 listed firms collected from FiinPro database, annual reports, financial statements and corporate governance reports from 2015 to 2017, this study examines the use of Big 4 auditors as a proxy to measure audit quality and applies the logistic regression method to analyse these relationships.

The research aims to provide empirical evidence on the relationship between corporate governance and firm performance in Vietnam – a developing economy in Asia. It focuses on the corporate governance of Vietnamese listed companies with a data-set of five-year period from 2011 to 2015. Vietnamese listed companies are governed and controlled by two boards, Board of Directors and Supervisory Board. It exposed the poor mechanism of internal and external supervision, and the significance of corporate governance is getting noticed. Most enterprises in Taiwan and the Peoples’ Republic of China are family holding businesses. This study involves the Taiwanese and Chinese financial industries and examines the influence of family ownership and board effectiveness on risk-taking in both the pre- and post-crisis period.
