Correlation studies showed that the traits viz. harvest index, number of pods per plant, 100 seed weight, number of seeds per pod and plant height exhibited positive and highly significant genotypic correlation with seed yield.

Horse gram is highly proteinaceous important food legume crop. The present study was conducted at IGKV, RMD CARS, research and instructional farm Ambikapur, during Kharif2019 using 24 genotypes of horse gram. The observation was recorded for eleven characters viz., days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, plant height, number of branches per plant, number of pods per plant, pod length, number of seed per pod, 100 seed weight, seed yield, biological yield and harvest index to study the correlation and path coefficient analysis.

The present study was carried out during Rabi seasons of 2017-18 & 2018-19 at Main Experimental Station, Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya (U.P.). The experimental materials comprised of twenty genetically diverse varieties/strains and their 105 crosses. Thirty mungbean genotypes were evaluated for the estimation of genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance, correlation coefficient, and path coefficient analysis for yield and its component traits. A considerable amount of genetic variability was observed among all the genotypes for all the characters under study. GCV & PCV were highest for seed yield per plant, followed by harvest index, biological yield and number of pods per plant.

Studies on genetic variability parameters were carried out in Quality Protein Maize (QPM) genotypes at AICRP on maize Rajasthan College of Agriculture, MPUAT, Udaipur, Rajasthan and in kharif 2014 for 15 various traits like days to 50 per cent tasseling, days to 50 per cent silking, anthesis silking interval, days to 75 per cent brown husk, plant height, ear height, ear length, 100-grain weight, grain yield per plant, harvest index, oil content, starch content, protein content, tryptophan content and lysine content in QPM genotypes.

An experiment was conducted during kharif 2013 and 2014 in North Coastal Zone of Andhra Pradesh at Agricultural Research Station, Ragolu, Srikakulam district to study the genetic parameters like variability, heritability, genetic advance, correlation and path analysis for fibre yield and eleven component traits in a set of 60 genotypes of roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.). Phenotypic as well as genotypic coefficients of variability were high for the important productivity characters like green weight (leafless) plant-1 , dry stick weight plant-1 and fibre yield plant-1 .

Statistical correlation coefficient is a measure that denotes the magnitude and direction of interrelationship between any two casually related variables. The information on the genotypic and phenotypic interrelationship of cane yield and sugar yield with their component characters interest would be of immense help to the sugarcane breeder. The character association will also help in the selection of superior genotypes from divergent population based on more than one interrelated characters.
