To investigate the water-deficit tolerance, 3 cotton genotypes (Bunny Bt, Pratima and Anjali.) were grown under normal irrigation and water-deficit conditions. Moisture is a key factor affecting growth and yield of Cotton in which stress is the most important factor limiting crop productivity due to adverse effect on fruit production, square/boll shedding and lint yield as well as fiber quality properties of Cotton. If water supply is limited during boll development it could result in significantly lower yields. In this study stress imposed with four watering treatments viz.

Significant differences were observed among the genotypes for all the traits, indicated presence of sufficient variation. The estimates of PCV and GCV were high for first fruit producing node. Moderate PCV and GCV were noticed for days to 50 per cent flowering, plant height, fruit yield per plant, fruits per plant, nodes per plant and internodal length.

Genetic parameters, variability, heritability and genetic advance were studied among 20 groundnut cultures rabi-2016-17 to study the variation and to identify traits of high heritability. The characters hundred kernel weight, hundred pod weight, dry pod yield and kernel yield had high GCV, heritability and GAM were found to be under the control of additive gene action, while the traits shelling percentage, sound mature kernel and final plant stand with moderate heritability and high genetic advance appeared to be under the predominant influence of additive gene action.

Genetic variation and association among nine characters were studied in 34 advanced breeding lines of groundnut for WUE and yield related traits during summer 2015. Higher estimates of PCV and GCV were recorded for Pod Yield per plant followed by Kernel Yield per plant and Pods per plant indicating the presence of sufficient variability between advanced breeding lines.

Flower plays an important role in people‟s celebration and everyday lives. Among the floriculture, gladiolus is one of them. Cultivation of gladiolus flower produces huge emphasis due to less maintenance and high economic return. Even though, the diseases on gladiolus have major economic impact on quality and quantity. Moreover, weather condition is one of the major factors on disease cause and its development, which is directly proportionate to different parameters viz, Temperature, Rainfall and Humidity.

An investigation was carried out in the BC4F4 generation with 95 plants for studying variability, correlation and path analysis. Low PCV and GCV values were recorded for the characters namely, days to fifty percent flowering, plant height, panicle length, number of productive tillers, grain length, grain width and hundred seed weight. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance as percentage of mean was observed for plant height, panicle length, number of productive tillers, grain width, seeds per panicle.

Chrysanthemum is among the most interesting and possibly the oldest one among the ornamental plants possessing wide genetic diversity. In recent years, researchers have used various conventional and non-conventional breeding techniques to understand the classification studies, correlation and association both at morphological and molecular level, with the wild relatives for introducing various ornamental traits from wild types to cultivated ones.

Poor and inconsistent yields of the Pigeonpea cultivation across different environments grown in respective seasons reduce the economic benefits for the farmers. Besides tolerances/ resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses, plant type and seed yield components of Pigeonpea are the principal determinants of the consistent yields. The contemporary research was orchestrated for the identification of QTLs for plant type and seed yield components.

Yield is a complex character controlled by a large number of contributing characters and their interactions. For any effective selection programme, it would be desirable to consider the relative magnitude of association of various characters with yield. The path coefficient technique helps in estimating direct and indirect contribution of various components in building up the total correlation towards yield. The present study was conducted with 10 lines and bottle gourd genotypes including one check variety i.e.

Correlation and path analysis were carried out in 16 genotypes of chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflora Tzvelev) for different yield attributing traits. Among twelve different parameters to differentiate the contribution made by each parameter in the final flower yield. The results revealed that the genotypic correlations were higher than the phenotypic correlations for the characters studied, indicating the high heritable nature of the characters. The genotypic correlation of flower yield per plant was showed highly significant and positive correlation with leaf area (0.

The present study was conducted with 33 sesame genotypes collected from different North East region of India with an objective to determine genetic variability and association among characters. Significant differences were observed for all the characters studied, except for number of branches per plant. High heritability coupled with high genetic advanced as % of mean was observed for yield per plant followed by 1000 grains weight indicating that these characters are controlled by additive gene effect. None of the characters showed significant association with yield per plant.
