In this study, cobalt Co(II) cations were incorporated into the interlayer spaces of the montmorillonite matrix via a cation-exchange reaction, leading to an increase in layer spacing as Na was replaced by Co, as demonstrated by x-ray diffraction analysis. It was observed that Co could be released from the MMTCo matrix into the aqueous medium, with this release being more pronounced in alkaline environments.

In the present study, a complex between 8-hydroxyquinoline and cerium (III) (CeHQ) was synthesized in the presence of triethylamine. Afterwards, the complex was characterized by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Thermo-Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). The inhibition efficiency of the Ce-HQ complex for the corrosion of carbon steel, evaluated by both Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and Potentiodynamic Polarization (PP) plots, reached 90 % after 2 h of immersion in a 0.01 M NaCl solution.

The specific research objectives of this study are: 1. The development of a high throughput method for evaluation of alloys (5xxx Al as model materials in this work) subject to pitting; 2. Understanding the roles of variation in functional groups' in determining the inhibition efficiency; 3. Elucidating the inhibition mechanisms; and 4. Unveiling the role of intermetallic present in Al matrix and their contribution to the inhibition mechanism, particularly the long-term durability of the inhibitor systems.

Caffeine was isolated from dry green tea leaves and used as corrosion inhibitor. The aim of this paper is to study the corrosion inhibition behavior of caffeine with its different concentrations (from 0.01 g/L to 3.00 g/L) for CT3 steel in 1M HCl solution by the curve polarization measurements and surface examination studies. Experiment result showed that: as the concentration of caffeine increases, the inhibition efficiency increases; %IE max is approximately 83.27% at concentration of caffeine 3.00 g/L.

Inhibition ability of mild steel corrosion of 4 amides (RCONH2 (marked as A4), RCONH– CH2–CH2OH (marked as A5), RCON(CH2–CH2OH)2 (marked as 6b) and RCONH–(CH2)2–NH– COR (marked as 7c) prepared as derivatives from aliphatic acid oxidatively synthesized from nparaffin of Vietnam crude oil, has been examined by electrochemical methods. The corrosion test has been performed in chloride 3% solution at room temperature. The inhibition efficiency has been evaluated through corrosion potential Ecor, corrosion current icor and some other corrosion parameters.

Corrosion inhibition of organic clay nanofil5 in NaCl 0.1 M solution was studied by polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The clay concentrations studied were between 1 g/l and 5 g/l. The clay nanofil5 plays both anodic and cathodic corrosion inhibition. The corrosion inhibition of clay nanofil5 depends on the concentration. The results obtained by two methods were in good agreement and showed that the highest inhibition efficiency was obtained with the nanofil5 concentration of 3 g/l.
