High temperature stress at reproductive stages of cotton crop severely affects the yield and quality of cotton crop under changing climatic conditions. To alleviate the adverse effects of high temperature stress on cotton crop, the regulatory effects of potassium (K), zinc (Zn), and boron (B) were assessed by applying different temperature regimes at three reproductive stages of cotton crop under field and glass house conditions.

The results showed that pre-oviposition, oviposition and post-oviposition periods of A. arizonensis were calculated as 1.5, 26, and 3.1 days, respectively. In addition, total mean longevity was determined as 31 days for female and 18 days for male individuals. Moreover, total mean fecundity and daily mean fecundity were also found as 83 mealybugs/female, and 4.1 mealybugs/female/day, respectively. The intrinsic rate of increase (r), net reproduction rate (R0), finite rate of increase (λ), gross reproductive rate (GRR), and mean generation time (T) were found 0.135, 41.25, 1.144, 60.

Insect bioassays were carried out of field strain of Helicoverpa armigera that survived on Bt cotton. These insects were reared on Cry1Ac incorporated diet that served as the initial culture for selection of resistance. Based on the partial sequences of putative trypsin mRNA of Helicoverpa armigera (accession no. AFO45138) trypsin specific primers were designed.

Cotton leaf curl disease is the major constraint in cotton production in the Indian subcontinent. A field study (2012-2017) was conducted to assess seed cotton yield on Bt cotton cultivars analogous to the symptom rating scales (DRS) of CLCuD. The DRS is used to derive the percent disease intensity (PDI).

The trails were conducted on cash crops i.e. sugarcane and cotton. In cotton integrated weed control and in sugarcane Sustainable Sugarcane Initiative (SSI) technology was popularized among farmers. Horticultural crops covered under study were onion and pomegranate. In the same way in onion crop to reduce the cost of cultivation integrated weed management and in pomegranate to protect the fruits from sun scorching PP Non woven bag technology was demonstrated at farmer’s field.

A total of 27 cotton Gossypium hirsutum genotypes were field evaluated during 2018-19 at Regional Agricultural Research station Nandyal under AICRP-Cotton programme for their reaction towards sucking pests, leaf hopper Amrasca devastans Distant in particular and bollworms. Results revealed that all the test genotypes were moderately tolerant towards sucking pest particularly leaf hoppers and exhibited below economic threshold level populations but among them, genotype CNH-2052 had recorded lowest leafhopper population of 2.

Cotton is one of the most commercial crops of the world and in the maintaining of many economics. Cotton is cultivated in nearly 100 countries with China, India, United States, Pakistan and Brazil being the five largest producers of cotton. Cotton is the back born of textile industry and provides raw material in the form of lint to the textile industry. A field experiment was conducted, with hirsutum cotton genotype H-1300 during Kharif season 2015 at the Oil Seed Farm of C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur.

Plant growth regulators (PGR) are used in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) production to balance vegetative and reproductive growth, as well as to increase seed cotton yield and lint quality. Field experiments were conducted with some PGRs to determine their effects on yield and yield components of cotton using cv Bt. Cotton and local hybrid. The field experiment was conducted during Kharif season of 2012-13 at the Agronomy Instructional Farm, Chimanbhai Patel College of Agriculture...

In this paper, to diagnosis the disease in cotton a research was carried out to automatically identify the cotton plant disease using Convolutional Neural Networks. Dataset with around 13,372 images for three diseases such as Bacterial Blight, Anthracnose, and Leafhopper are collected from cotton field. Convolutional Neural Networks is used to for both recognition and classification of three cotton disease images captured from farmer’s field.
