The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between lipid assessment ( total-cholesterol, HDLcholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triacylglycerols) and arterial lesions in farm chickens fed on six different vegetable oil varieties (crude red palm oil, industrial red palm oil, refined palm oil, soya oil, cotton oil, and groundnut oil).

The aim of this study is to explore and develop methods of controlling colour while overcoming many of the inherent problems in the processing. Because to the enormous variety of paper available, testing for printing was narrowed to primarily 100% cotton papers. The negative was critical in realising the full potential of the salt prints tonal range. The film tested was limited by availability in the Australian market. The research into various films to create digital output negatives proved to be complex and time consuming.

The mitochondrial genomes of higher plants vary remarkably in size, structure and sequence content, as demonstrated by the accumulation and activity of repetitive DNA sequences. Incompatibility between mitochondrial genome and nuclear genome leads to non-functional male reproductive organs and results in cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS). CMS has been used to produce F1 hybrid seeds in a variety of plant species.

Aquaporins (AQPs) are integral membrane proteins from a larger family of major intrinsic proteins (MIPs) and function in a huge variety of processes such as water transport, plant growth and stress response. The availability of the whole-genome data of different cotton species allows us to study systematic evolution and function of cotton AQPs on a genome-wide level.

Verticillium wilt is a widespread and destructive disease, which causes serious loss of cotton yield and quality. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is involved in many biological processes, such as plant disease resistance response, through a variety of regulatory mechanisms, but their possible roles in cotton against Verticillium dahliae infection remain largely unclear.

The present study aims at identification of green tissue specific genes in Gossypium hirsutum variety, Suraj for promoter isolation and characterization in the future. For this, transcriptome sequencing of three different tissues viz., seed, leaf and boll rind was done. Differential gene expression analysis between seed (non green) and leaf and bollrind (green) tissues was done to identify genes which are highly expressed in green tissues i.e., leaf and boll rind and very low or no expression in non green tissues i.e., seed.

The maximum yield potential of Bt cotton is yet to be trapped under irrigated conditions which is low for various reasons. Among the different constraints in cotton major reduction in yield is due to leaf reddening which results in 30-60% of yield loss. Leaf reddening in cotton is also known as red leaf disease (lal patti). This disorder is an outcome of interaction of location, variety, environmental condition and nitrogen, potassium, magnesium etc. supply.

Vetiver root has many end uses in ayurveda and textile finishing. It is multifunctional bio resource widely available in Karnataka. The present study is designed to optimize the vetiver root extract for textile finishing. The Gulabi variety vetiver root was powdered by traditional pounding technique and powder of varied concentrations (2, 4, 6 and 8 %) were subjected to aqueous and ethanol extraction. The present investigation is focused on optimization of vetiver root extract for textile application.

Seed cotton yield and fibre quality traits are governed by polygenes and these traits are highly influenced by the environment. Hence, selection merely based on yield is not effective. In order to enhance the yield potential of the cotton varieties, knowledge on the direct contribution of different characters to yield would be highly important for formulating a selection programme.

Cotton is one of the principal commercial crop and it is the back bone of national economy of our country. Cotton remains the most miraculous fiber and is still nature’s wonder fiber. Cotton is grown all around the globe, and is traded internationally as well. The production is influenced by the repeated out breaks of pest and diseases and these are the major factors responsible for lower yield of cotton in India.

A study was conducted to characterize and evaluate the extant varieties and parental lines of upland cotton using qualitative morphological traits for DUS testing of cotton. These data were subjected to various genetic principles. The results indicated that out of 26 traits, only 17 traits were included for Principal Component analysis (PCA) because of expression of variability.

Brinjal (Solanum melongena L.) is an important solanaceous vegetable crop in sub-tropics and tropics. Adults and nymphs of Leaf hopper feed on the underside of the leaves by sucking plant sap, which results in yellowing and curling of leaves. It also injects toxic material into the leaves, which causes necrosis.

Water deficit is one of the major abiotic stresses which adversely affect the crop growth and yield. Moisture stress induce the metabolic functions, such as reduced synthesis of photosynthetic pigments, accumulation of osmoprotectants like proline, decline in the Chlorophyll stability and alterations in physiological parameters. The Field experiment was conducted at Agricultural College and Research Institute, Madurai during summer season 2016 with the variety of SVPR - 4.

Cotton is the very important commercial and cash crop, it is a very much necessary to improve the Superior agronomic traits to withstand against biotic and abiotic stress in the field and fiber qualities to meet requirement of advance spinning technology. Cotton improvement through conventional breeding is time consuming, in this context molecular markers found that efficient tool to accelerate the plant breeding program in cotton improvement. At present variety of molecular markers are available, choice of molecular marker depends on the user.

The purpose of this study was to develop an efficient protocol for genotype independent gene transformation in cotton (Gossypium hirusutum) a worldwide commercially important fibre crop, to reduce the adverse impact of harmful chemicals used to control biotic stress. Most cotton varieties remain recalcitrant and amenable to genetic manipulation to protocols so far developed.

An analysis of the accumulation and distribution of biomass over plant organs allows one to obtain various information about the features of the formation of the crop of the studied genotypes. It characterizes some aspects of photosynthetic activity of plants, donor-acceptor relations between assimilating and consuming organs, potential productivity and attracting ability of fruiting organs and their realization in an economic crop.
