  • In addition, they suggest a two-binding site architecture in hTAS2R46, consisting of the usual orthosteric site together with a “vestibular” site toward the extracellular space, as observed in other GPCRs. The presence of the vestibular site may help to discriminate among the wide spectrum of bitter ligands.

  • The power generated by the coupled system from the non-linear impact is sensitive to the thickness ratio of the beams and the clearance. The variation in thickness ratio alters the spacing of the natural frequencies of the system which causes modes to interact. This study shows that higher power is produced than the linear system, depending on the dissimilarity in the mode shapes of the interacting close modes.

  • In this paper a semi-analytical approach to efficiently determine the dynamic response of an Euler-Bernoulli beam with general boundary conditions crossed by a mass-spring-damper (MSD) system is presented. Based on a dynamic substructuring technique (DST), the non-classically damped beam subsystem in modal state space representation is coupled with the interacting degrees of freedom of the MSD system by applying a generalized corresponding assumption.

  • Given two genomes that have diverged by a series of rearrangements, we infer minimum Double Cut-and-Join (DCJ) scenarios to explain their organization differences, coupled with indel scenarios to explain their intergene size distribution, where DCJs themselves also alter the sizes of broken intergenes.

  • The formulae for the decay width and numerical results are obtained. We have calculated the conclusion of the one-loop vertex correction, wave-function correction and renormalization of the bare couplings to the decay width. We revealed that the effect of the complex parameters At and Ab could be quite significant in a large region of the MSSM parameter space.

  • Evolutionary information contained in the amino acid sequences of proteins specifies the biological function and fold, but exactly what information contained in the protein sequence drives both of these processes? Considerable progress has been made to answer this fundamental question, but it remains challenging to explore the potential space of cooperative interactions between amino acids.

  • This paper addresses the issue of accountability for intellectual capital (IC) in the context of a non-profit organization known as a “corporate university”. Accountability in nonprofits serves as a powerful tool to demonstrate that stakeholders’ interests and expectations are addressed properly (Hyndman and McConville 2017). Furthermore, accountability is important in reducing the information asymmetry that can hinder the building of trust. The notion of accountability, however, is subject to increasing complexity.

  • The study of the nature of scalar fields without mass parameter interacting with stiff perfect fluid in Bianchi type space- times is a subject of interest due to its significant role in the description of the universe at the early stages of evolution. Patel [1] obtained the static and non-static plane symmetric solutions of the field equations in presence of zeromass scalar field. Singh and Deo [2] considered Robertson Walker metric and investigated the problem of zero-mass scalar field interactions in the presence of gravitational field with and without the source term in the wave equation.

  • This article deals with the thermoelastic interaction in a three-dimensional homogeneous and isotropic viscoelastic medium under the Dual-phase-lag model of generalized thermoelasticity. The resulting non-dimensional coupled equations are applied to a specific problem of a half-space whose surface is traction-free and is subjected to a time-dependent thermal shock.

  • Light absorption of the most plants is in range of blue (440 nm), deep-red (660 nm) and far-red around 700-740 nm. The deep-red and far-red light play important roles in reactions of photomorphogenesis of plants. Although red emission phosphors have been researched extensively for white light-emitting diodes, deep-red and far-red emission phosphors for plant growth have been reported inadequately. Thus, in this work, far-red emitting CaYAlO4:Mn4+ phosphor was synthesized by co-precipitation method coupled with various annealing temperature from 800 oC to 1300 oC for 5 h.

In the district, traditional method of paddy cultivation, adoption of more seed rate, late transplanting with over aged seedlings, close spacing coupled with scarcity of labour and escalation in labor wages, reduction in labor efficiency are leading to lower yields and low net returns, besides that farmers are distressed to cultivate paddy.

  • Design of multivalent ligand is significant in restraining the interaction involved in the binding of influenza virus to its host cell. This molecular dynamics (MD) simulation study aims to study the mode of binding of dimeric NeuNAc analogues coupled by different nano-spacers into the multimeric binding sites of neuraminidase and haemagglutinin of influenza A H5N1 virus. In total, 80 NeuNAc analogue dimers were modeled and docked against the binding sites of neuraminidase and haemagglutinin.

  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2) storage and sequestration in unconventional shale resources has been attracting interest since last couple of years due to the very unique characteristics of such formations have made them a feasible option for this object. Shale formations are found all around the world and the conventional assets are easily accessible , and also the huge move of operators toward developing unconventional reservoirs during past years leave s many of such formations ready for sequestering CO2.

  • A realistic new sediment–laden water prediction computer model was developed. In this model unsteady non-uniform flow computations were incorporated. Using this model, flooding flow–sediments were simulated and compared to earlier research including hydrologic engineering centre (HEC-series) computer models. Uncertain value of parameters and errors in flow–sediment transport equation in existing coupled flow–sediment models were studied.

  • In this paper, we only focused on consider phenomenon of spontaneous symmetry breaking in the case of space dependent coupling. The results show that in the case of a coupling between the two rings is a function of single-Gaussian symmetry breaking only between rings. In contrast, in the case of a coupling between them as a double-Gaussian function, the symmetry breaking occurs only in each ring, breaking the symmetry of the space dependent coupling.

  • In this paper, a model of earthquake forecast is presented to assess the long-term probabilities of future earthquakes with moderate magnitudes for a region including Iran (latitude 25-40° and longitude 44-62°). The model estimates a coupled rate of magnitude, space and time for future seismicity using a spatial-temporal Poisson process.

  • This paper is concerned with a boundary value problem of impulsive differential systems on the whole line with one-dimensional p-Laplacians. By constructing a weighted Banach space and defining a nonlinear operator, together with Schauder’s fixed point theorem, sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of at least one solution are established (Theorems 3.1–3.3).

  • In contrast, the self-gravitational counterparts grow as bell-shaped rarefactive soliton-like structures (conservative). The correlative effect of diverse plasma parameters on the amplitudes and patterns is explicitly investigated. Interestingly, this is conjectured that the grain-mass plays a key role in the eigenmode shaping (growth and decay) through the interplaying processes of pulsating gravito-electrostatic coupling. As the grain-mass increases, a new type of shock-to-soliton transition results, and so forth.
