Ebook "Agrimonde – Scenarios and challenges for feeding the World in 2050" provides a synthetic presentation of the main conclusions that this foresight project has yielded. First, it recapitulates the main statistical references for the period 1961 to 2003, before going on to describe the Agribiom simulation tool used to calculate food biomass resource use balances.

This study aimed to assess the perception of H'mong farmers in the northwest mountainous region on climate change, its impacts on crop production, and their adaptation strategies. Reports on natural disaster events and their damages for the period ranging from 2012- 2021, together with meteorological data including daily temperature and precipitation for 1991-2021, were collected.

Colletotrichum species cause anthracnose in various tropical crops in both cultivation and postharvest periods. The current synthetic fungicides to treat anthracnose sometime show toxic effects for farmers, residues on foods, and environmental impacts. In this work, turmeric extract containing curcuminoids was used as an active ingredient and formulated into a nanoemulsion to control anthracnose in red pepper and tomato fruits.

Rice is one of the most important staple foods not just to people in Asia, but around the world. To meet domestic and export demands, farmers in Southeast Asia (SEA) grow 2-3 crop cycles per year, which leaves only a short period for land preparation. Field open burning of rice straw has been widely practiced to quickly clear the surface biomass for the next crop planting.

Some species are exceptionally common in landscapes heavily impacted by humans, such as agricultural lands. This study was carried out over a period of 2 years (July 2012 to June 2014) in the arid agricultural landscape of Pothwar Plateau, Pakistan, to identify adaptations that govern bird distribution and abundance across 2 different cropping systems associated with differences in water availability. We used regular surveys and foraging observations to quantify species abundance, distribution, and habits. We then examined morphological correlations with ecological attributes.

The objective was to understand how the additional nutritional dynamics associated with crayfish influence the basil crop. Both fresh and dry basil plant weights were collected after harvest, followed by leaf nutrient analysis. Leaf chlorophyll content, water pH, nitrogen and temperature were measured periodically.

The present study hypothesized that ruzigrass seed treatment and sowing density and period influence seed germination and seedling establishment and that physical and/or allelopathic effects of the leaves and petioles of soybean cultivars are a major factor for interseeding success. To test these hypotheses, the influences of seed treatment, sowing density, time, and soybean cultivar on the emergence of ruzigrass seedlings in a soybean interseeding system were evaluated with the aim of mitigating environmental effects in the establishment of forage in succession to soybean.

Pigeon crop has the unique ability to produce a nutrient rich substance termed pigeon ‘milk’ (PM), which has functional resemblance with the mammalian milk. Previous researches have demonstrated that a large number of exosomes and exosomal miRNAs exist in mammalian milk, and many of them are associated with immunity, growth and development. However, to date, little is known about the exosomes and exosomal miRNAs in PM.

Study on fungal leaf spot diseases of gladiolus (Gladiolus grandiflorus) in Prayagraj city was assessed in the year 2019 and 2020. A survey was conducted in Prayagraj city among different varieties during their active growth period of gladiolus which revealed the incidence of Curvularia leaf spot and Alternaria leaf spot to be the predominant diseases of the crop.

Soybean (Glycine max L.) is an important leguminous oil seed crop among all the seed crops of country grown during rainy season. The higher incidence of weed and pests during growth period are one of the important menaces in getting higher yield of crop.A field experiment was conducted during rainy season 2019 at Agricultural Research Station, Banswara (Raj.), India to evaluate bio-efficacy of compatible tank-mix combinations of herbicide and insecticides to manage the weed and insect-pests in crop.

The present study was conducted in Andhra Pradesh with the objective to assess the economic impact of Farmers’ Field Schools (FFSs). The total sample size was 240 comprising 120 FFS farmers and 120 non-FFS farmers selected through random sampling method from three districts of Andhra Pradesh. The double difference method was used by analysing change in performance before and after the programme for FFS farmers to the change in performance over the same period for non-FFS farmers unaffected by the programme. The farmers were interviewed by using a structured interview schedule.

The aim of modern agriculture is to reduce inputs without reducing the yield and quality. The identification of organic molecules able to activate plant metabolism may allow an improvement in plant performance in a short period of time and in a cheaper way.

Production and yield is depending upon the micro climate around the crop. So, for knowing the effect of climatic condition around the crop during production period is a main aspect in modern agriculture production system and there is need to develop a strategies to mitigate the climate affect and response of plant growth regulators and micronutrients for achieving higher fruit yield.

Depending on the need of crop spread, single pinch, pinch and a half or double pinch is given. Single pinch is done for early flower production, pinch and a half is done to increase the duration of flowering and provides steady production of flowers without any peak time and double pinching is done to delay flowering period.

In general, it is reviewed that there will be decrease in rainfall for SW monsoon and increase in rainfall during NE monsoon for peninsular region during El Niño years and vice versa for La Niña years. Markov chain tool is implicated here to find out the distribution of wet spells during El Niño and La Niña years compared with neutral years so as to find the maximum possible wet period which helps in identifying maximum cropping duration for respective periods.

Both allogamy and autogamy pollination happens in the fruit of paradise protogyny which occurs through Cross pollination is predictable. For proper enrichment of crops through the Hybridization method, the amount of perfect flowers of the female parent has a vital impact on pollen viability.

The study applied the soil, land and topographic data for analyzing the potentiality of land for trees /crops suitability in the Gumla district of Jharkhand, India. The remote sensing, GIS and GIS modeling techniques were used to achieve the goal. The soil fertility, soil wetness, and slope map are scientifically produced and integrated to find out the landscape suitable categories for prioritization of trees/crops scaling in the agroforestry domain. Additionally, we have examined the drift of loss of soil wetness using satellite data from monsoon to postmonsoon period up to the village level.
