Crop regulation mango

In this review we have discussed a few important hi – tech practices in the fruit crop mango. The novel techniques that cab be adopted to improve the mango productivity are High Density Planting, fertigation technology under UHDP, mulching, canopy management, using of growth regulators, floral manipulation by application of exogenous plant hormones, induction of off – season flowering, ethylene spray, paclobutrazol and top working of old and senile orchards for rejuvenation. When all these techniques are integrated and practiced, there will be remarkable increase in productivity of mango.

The experiment was conducted during the cropping season of 2015-16 and 2016-17 at Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Dapoli, Maharashtra on 35 years old uniform mango (cv. Alphonso) trees with an objective study the effect of plant growth regulators on suppression of post monsoon vegetative flush in mango. In the investigation the physiological behavior of the mango trees were assessed in relation to influence of plant growth regulator sprays.

The Mango (Mangifera indica L.), member of family Anacardiaceae, is amongst the most important tropical fruit of the world. Flowering is the first of several events that set the stage for mango production each year. Flower initiation is very important because it is the first step towards attaining fruit and it is very complex phenomena in mango. Flowering in mango trees make them especially challenging for physiologists, breeders, and growers.
