Multigrain biscuits were formulated by blending refined wheat flour with barley and buckwheat flours in the ratios of 100:0:0::WF:BF:BWF; 0:100:0::WF:BF:BWF; 80:20:0::WF:BF:BWF; 70:20:10::WF:BF:BWF; 60:20:20::WF:BF:BWF; 0:20:30::WF:BF:BWF; 40:20:40::WF:BF:BWF; 30:20:50::WF:BF:BWF. Incorporation of buckwheat flour led to increase in crude fibre, crude fat, ash, carbohydrate and antioxidant activity of multigrain biscuits, except moisture and crude protein contents where the reverse is true. Among the treatments, the highest mean moisture (4.20 %) mean crude protein (7.

A study indicates that there is increase in area, production and productivity of major food crops in Jammu & Kashmir State of India over the years but the rate of increase has been slow. Jammu region of the State has maximum cropping intensity (176.8%) followed by Kashmir (123%) and Ladakh (106%). The average land holding in the State is very low (0.66 ha) in comparison to National Average (1.68 ha). The unit farm power availability on gross cropped area basis is 0.78 kW contributed 51.2% by animated (human and animal power) sources and 48.8% from rest of the sources.

The present investigation entitled “Performance of wild apricot under fertigation practices (Prunus armeniaca L.) in cold arid condition of Ladakh” was carried out at PFDC Farm Leh. The fertigation techniques of water and fertilizers application has provide its superiority, in fruit and vegetable crops, owing to precise and direct application of water in the root zone without wetting the entire area. Fertigation consequences with and without mulch in apricot, one of the most important temperate fruit crops of Ladakh region, have yet not been established.

The precision farming including plasticulture applications has proven its worth in realizing more output per unit of inputs and resources bestowed on to land. As an alternative to raise production and productivity especially to compete global trade and meet out own requirements. Cabbage is grown extensively in summers in Ladakh region and is stored for winters. Due to lack of scientific know how, improved varieties and modern precision farming techniques, crop yield and quality is comparatively low.

Water reservoirs are always characterized for drinking water quality. However, in catchments where arable fields dominate, the impact of agriculture on water pollution is still problematic. In Ladakh, recently the fertilization level has decreased drastically due to detrimental impact on soil conditions, mostly for economic reasons as well as lastly getting more awareness on benefits of organic farming towards maintaining indigenous traditional knowledge/ methodologies.
