Theileriosis is one of the major tick borne diseases endemic in India. A four year crossbred dairy cow with history of anorexia, bilateral watery nasal discharge, pyrexia, cutaneous nodules was reported to Veterinary Clinical Complex, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal for treatment. On clinical examination the animal had pyrexia, bilateral adenopathy of prescapular lymph node, generalised cutaneous nodules, salivation and pale mucous membrane.

The effect of heat stress is caused by high ambient temperature and high relative humidity (Kadzere et al., 2002). At high temperature several physiological changes occur in dairy cow and they attempt to facilitate heat dissipation, if they failure of homeostasis of high temperature may lead to reduce productivity or even death (Kamal et al., 2018).

The puerperal uterine soundness is essential for the re-establishment of postpartum ovarian cyclicity and next pregnancy. Normally calved 36 healthy Holstein Friesian crossbred cows aged between 2nd and 5th lactations were selected immediately after parturition. Day of parturition was considered as day 0 of the experiment.

Effect of fenugreek seed supplementation on milk yield and its composition of crossbred dairy cattle
Effect of fenugreek seed supplementation on milk yield and its composition were studied using twelve crossbred dairy cattle. While six cows were supplemented with soaked fenugreek seed, the rest were treated as control. The study period comprises of 30 days of pre-supplementation, 60 days of supplementation and 30 days of post-supplementation periods.

A clinical study was conducted with the objective to isolate and identify the uterine aerobic bacteria in crossbred dairy cows with postpartum subclinical endometritis (SCE). One hundred and ninety four recently calved cows from different organized dairy farms in and around the city of Bangalore were screened for SCE by endometrial cytology using cytobrush technique on 35 day postpartum (dpp) from the cows.

Crossbred dairy cattle milk production and milk fat depends mainly on feeding management with adequate availability of nutrients in their feed materials. It comprises the major protein supply for milk production. The demand of milk is increasing for nutrition of population in country. Presently, Azolla green fodder feeding is being considered essential for lactating dairy animals.

A clinical investigation was conducted with the objective to isolate and identify the uterine aerobic bacteria in post partum crossbred dairy cows suffering from metritis and antibiotic sensitivity testing using disc diffusion test. Fourteen post partum crossbred dairy cows found positive for clinical metritis at Research cum Development Project (RCDP) on Cattle, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri Maharashtra State were investigated in the present study.

The dairy farming in our country is entirely different from other developed countries. The reason is that small and marginal farmers feeding of dairy animals produce the bulk of production in our country. In terms of buffer use in nutrition, it has been defined as a salt of a weak acid which neutralizes acids that occur in feeds or acids produced during digestion and metabolism of nutrients. The experiment was carried out on 16 healthy crossbred cows nearly similar age and in late stage lactation to study the effect of feeding buffer on milk yield and fat per cent of raw milk.

The aim of this study was to identify the Complex Vertebral Malformation (CVM) in repeat breeder and anoestrous animals in Maharashtra state region. Total 102 animals of HF crossbred, Dangi, Gaolao and Non- descript were screened from field and cattle dairy farm. CVM is a hereditary recessive disorder in Holstein cattle which have a significant economic impact on dairy cattle breeding worldwide. Fifty repeat breeder and fifty-two anoestrous animals blood DNA were extracted by traditional method. Genotyping was performed by using PCR-RFLP analysis with the help of PstI restriction enzyme.

Transition period is a critical period of dairy cow in terms of physiological stress. Rapid body fat mobilization, fatty infiltration of liver and impaired performance are characteristics of late pregnancy and early lactation. Choline acts as a lipotropic factor. The present study was planned to study the effect of high energy levels with or without rumen protected choline before calving on milk production and metabolic profile of crossbred cows.

Bovine fertility is affected by nutritional and non nutritional factors. The non nutritional factors include micro-climate of the stable, lay-out of the stable, hygiene and genetic manipulations. The most common cause of infertility in cattle is poor nutrition (Navarre et al., 2010). Minerals have a great impact on animal's reproductive physiology. Their imbalance causes various problems leading to lowered reproductive efficiency and resultant monetary loss to the dairy industry.

Johne’s disease (Paratuberculosis), a debilitating chronic granulomatous enteritis of domesticated and wild ruminants that causes huge economic and production losses to the dairy farmers. A six-year-old Jersey crossbred cow was presented with a history of chronic diarrhoea, gradual weight loss, reduction in milk yield and poor response to therapy. Based on history, clinical examination, ZiehlNeelsen staining and IS900 polymerase chain reaction of the faeces the case was diagnosed as Johne’s disease.
