In this paper, imidazole-based ionic liquids were synthesized by alkylation of imidazole derivatives using 1-bromohexadecane. The anti-corrosion properties of the material were evaluated using the weight method and potentiodynamic polarization method. Results showed that the synthesized ILs are good corrosion inhibitor for CT3 steel.

Thermal spray-applied AlMg alloy coatings are frequently utilized in a variety of technical applications because of great corrosion resistance, and environmental friendliness. In this work, the effect of abrasive spraying parameters on the surface roughness of CT3 steel specimens as well as the effect of the surface roughness on the adhesion strength of Al-Mg alloy spray coating were experimentally investigated.

This paper presents our research on the reinforcement with 1% of carbon nanotubes (CNT) for a ceramic Al2O3 coating applied by air plasma spray (APS) on CT3 steel. The corrosion resistance of both CNTs reinforced and non-CNTs reinforced Al2O3 coatings were investigated by using different techniques: potentiodynamic polarization; electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS); salt spray and erosion corrosion tests.

Caffeine was isolated from dry green tea leaves and used as corrosion inhibitor. The aim of this paper is to study the corrosion inhibition behavior of caffeine with its different concentrations (from 0.01 g/L to 3.00 g/L) for CT3 steel in 1M HCl solution by the curve polarization measurements and surface examination studies. Experiment result showed that: as the concentration of caffeine increases, the inhibition efficiency increases; %IE max is approximately 83.27% at concentration of caffeine 3.00 g/L.

The corrosion rate of the CT3 steel in 1 N and 2 N hydrochloric acids was measured by electrochemical polalization method. The measuring values of icorrosion showed that alcoholoamines influence on the inhibition corrosion of the CT3 steel in the hydrochloric acid solution and these values are increased in the order: monoethanolamine < diethanolamine < triethanolamine. In the solution of HCl 1 N and 2 N, the inhibition on the corrosion of steel CT3 of mixture of alcoholamines and potassium iodide is more effective than partial components.

Inhibition ability of mild steel corrosion of 4 amides (RCONH2 (marked as A4), RCONH– CH2–CH2OH (marked as A5), RCON(CH2–CH2OH)2 (marked as 6b) and RCONH–(CH2)2–NH– COR (marked as 7c) prepared as derivatives from aliphatic acid oxidatively synthesized from nparaffin of Vietnam crude oil, has been examined by electrochemical methods. The corrosion test has been performed in chloride 3% solution at room temperature. The inhibition efficiency has been evaluated through corrosion potential Ecor, corrosion current icor and some other corrosion parameters.
