The purpose of this study is to identify the sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) by using factor analysis (exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis). Using a survey questionnaire, data were collected 230 respondents from private hospitals in Malaysia. The findings found that the factor analysis for SSCM model was fit and acceptable with four dimensions (environment, information and communications technology, culture change, and risk management).

Iron is an essential micro-mineral in human nutrition. It is a mineral found in every cell of the body and required to make part of blood cell. It participates as a catalyst in several metabolic reactions. As a component of haemoglobin, myoglobin, cytochrome and other proteins, iron plays an important role in the transport, storage and utilization of oxygen and cellular proliferation. In this study, an attempt was made to prepare dahi by using 1% starter culture, fortified with iron by using ferrous lactate @ 40 mg/kg milk.

This study aimed at standardization of plain and probiotic fruit yoghurt by blending with fruits such as banana, papaya, sapota at a ratio of 5%, 10% and 15%. Among the different fruits used banana, sapota incorporated fruit pulp secured higher sensory scores whereas papaya Plain probiotic yoghurt was prepared using three different probiotic cultures such as Lactobacillus plantarum NCDC 25, Lactobacillus casei NCDC 298, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, NCDC 19 along with yoghurt culture.

Sacrifice of animals and birds for socio-cultural and religious events have long been an indispensable part of human civilization. The present exploratory investigation was directed in this direction to study poultry sacrifices among the tribal people of Koraput district-a tribal dominated area of Southern Odisha. Six tribal people who facilitate religious practices for the tribal people were taken as cases for this study. They were selected on the basis of having long duration of practising the rituals for benefit of the community.

The present investigation was carried out to standardize and evaluate plain, probiotic, prebiotic and synbiotic yoghurts using selected yoghurt commercial starter culture, probiotic cultures (L. acidophilus, L. casei, L. plantarum, and L. rhamnosus), and prebiotic fibre sources viz., oat flour, inulin and banana flour. Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) is highly important culturable species in freshwater and cultured throughout the globe. Its farming require formulated feed with balance protein and energy. Most of the time fish meal is used as a protein source, but it is not acceptable from sustainability point of view. The replacement of fish meal by plant based protein source is advised. The carrot and tomato juice (70:30) with 180 Bx inoculated using 10% mixed culture of L. acidophilus and S. boulardii (1:1) and fermented for 20 hours was standardized for development of probiotic carrot and tomato beverage. Various physico-chemical attributes of the beverage like TSS, titratable acidity, pH, total sugars, reducing sugars and non-reducing sugars. The color was found to orange red which was most acceptable for carrot and tomato based beverage. Further, viscosity of beverage was found to be decreased with increase in temperature.

Continuous development of aquaculture demands new alternative technologies to achieve sustainable production with low economic cost. Banana variety Nanjanagudu rasabale has been found growing in parts of Mysuru district, known for its unique aroma, flavour, taste and shelf life but unfortunately deemed as an endangered variety. Having given GI protection hope for bringing this variety back to field by producing disease free tissue culture plants demanded development of an efficient protocol for in vitro regeneration. In the present investigation, both citric acid and ascorbic acid found effective in inhibiting browning of shoot tip explant due to phenolic compounds.
