  • Recombinant human CD45RO antigen was expressed from E. coli BL21 (DE3), purified and analyzed by SDS-PAGE and Western blotting. The purified CD45RO antigen was used to immunize Balb/c mice. Spleen cells from immunized mouse were collected and fused with P3X63Ag8.653 myeloma cells to form hybridoma. Anti-CD45 antibody-secreting capacity of hybridoma clones was evaluated by ELISA assay. Anti-CD45 MAb from the culture supernatant of the chosen hybridoma clone was purified by affinity chromatography. The MAb was characterized the biochemical characteristics and biological activity.

  • A total of 10 samples were collected from Agricultural waste dump sites from various areas of Ladakh and 12 isolates of bacteria were isolated using Nutrient Agar medium. The optimal cultural conditions, microbiological characteristics, biochemical characteristics, antagonistic and synergistic activities within the strains and production of extracellular enzymes of the bacterial strains were documented. Colonies were isolated, cultured and characterized by gram staining and biochemical tests. Six isolates were found to be gram negative while 4 were gram positive.

  • The present study was taken up to evaluate the antibiogram against different mastitogenic pathogens isolated from the milk samples of clinical bovine mastitis cases. A total of 78 milk samples were collected from different dairy farmers of Nialiblock, Odisha and processed in Animal Disease Research Institute (ADRI), Phulnakhara, Cuttack for isolation, identification and antibiogram of pathogens. The samples were screened for mastitis by modified California mastitis test (MCMT). The milk samples were inoculated in BHI broth and incubated for 24-48 hours.

  • Mastitis is the most economically significant disease of dairy animals. This condition is associated with a significant reduction in milk yield, increased costs of production and deteriorated milk quality. In the present study a total number of 40 bovine mastitis milk samples were collected to isolate and identify the Pseudomonas aeruginosa. All the samples were inoculated into nutrient broth which was further cultured on agar plates. Colonies showing typical Pseudomonas morphological characteristics were processed for biochemical analysis.

  • Basidiobolomycosis is a very rare form of subcutaneous mycosis often confused with other clinically mimicking conditions. Poor clinical suspicion and lack of experience due to its rarity sometimes misdirects clinicians, pathologists and microbiologists. Wrongful diagnosis may lead to inappropriate and fatal interventions. This present endeavour is aimed at a thorough study of those cases to readdress the challenges in diagnosis and management from eastern India.

  • Soil contains huge diversity of microorganism which produces different types of enzymes. Amylase is one of them that hydrolyses starch into its monomer compounds, the smallest being glucose. Hence, amylase is a very prevalent enzyme produced biologically by various kinds of microorganisms and used in industrial sectors for various purposes. Soil bacteria can be isolated and commercially grown in large numbers to produce a vast amount of amylase. In addition, amylases that are extracted require optimum conditions to show greatest activity.
