Several methods using simple anteroposterior (AP) radiographs have been suggested for the measurement of anteversion of the cup component after total hip arthroplasty. Herein, we compared six widely used anteversion measurement methods using two different types of AP radiograph, the conventional pelvis AP and hip-centered AP radiographs, to identify the measurement method and the type of radiograph that would provide the highest accuracy and reliability.

This study aims at investigating cup survival of porous tantalum revision cups and identifies risk factors for failure. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 41 patients treated between 2010 and 2012. Main indications were aseptic loosening in 83% and two-stage exchange after periprosthetic joint infection in 17% of cases. Mean follow-up period was 72 months.

The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT), a semi distributed physically based model, was chosen and set up in the Patapur micro-watershed for sediment yield modeling. Studies were conducted to evaluate the influence of seed drill sowing on productivity and resultant seed quality of rainfed horsegram at Regional Research Station, Paiyur, Krishnagiri district (12.6257° N, 78.0195° E ),Tamil Nadu. Horsegram cv.paiyur 2 was sown using cup feed seed drill modified with the cup size of 6 mm, which was derived based on the major and minor axis of the seeds. The seed drill was compared with the conventional method of sowing. The field test conducted with the cup feed seed drill showed the average effective field capacity as 0.44 ha/h with 78.

This paper uses numerical simulation to study a method in combined drawing process with thinning the wall when drawing of a cylindrical cup of sheet metal. The software Deform 2D is used to examine effect of die design parameters (inclination of die) on deformation possibility of metal. Based on simulation results, it is possible to select appropriate die design parameters (cone die) and improve deformability and improve product quality.
