Curvelet transform

In the paper we propose an improved system for iris recognition with high accuracy by fusing curvelet and dual tree complex wavelet transform. In our system, the main features are extracted from pre-processed/normalized iris images using both curvelet and Dual Tree Complex Wavelet Transform (DTCWT) tranforms.

A new image denoising method based on Curvelet transform and histogram segmentation is proposed. This paper first explores the concept and the propertites of the Curvelet transform for curved singularities analysis then applies Curvelet transform and histogram segmentation to estimate optimum threshold for image denoising.

The combination of Zernike moments and curvelet-like transform can bring the most significant feature coefficients in pattern recognition. Instead of using Zernike moments in the image, we apply Zernike moments on every corona of curvelet-like transform. This combination brings special properties when we can represent the shape of each the corona through Zernike moments. More especially, we use orientation of wedge of curvelet-like transform at specific scale for Zernike moments instead of using uniformly partition angle as in normal Zernike moments.

In this paper, my proposed method is to combine filter and threshold to calculate the denoising coefficients in curvelet domain. The result of proposed method is compared with other previous methods and shows an improvement.
