Cylindrical quantum wire

In this work, we investigated the optical absorption in a quasi-one-dimensional system subjected to an external electromagnetic wave. The optical absorption coefficient was calculated by using the perturbation theory taking account of the effect of the electron - impurity interaction. The numerical result for the GaAs/AlAs cylindrical semiconductor quantum wire showed the presence of the resonant absorption peaks.

Theoretical results for the AME field is numerically evaluated, plotted and discussed for the specific CQWIP AlGaAs/GaAs. The result shows that the dependence of the AME field on the temperature of the system is nonlinear. These results are compared with those of normal bulk semiconductors and quantum well to show the difference.

The results are numerically evaluated and graphed for a GaAs/GaAsAl CQW to shows clearly the dependence of Hall conductivity and HC on above parameters. The obtained results are very different in comparison to our previous results in the case two-dimensional system (2D) and bulk semiconductor.

The Hall effect is the production of a voltage difference (the Hall voltage) across an electrical conductor, transverse to an electric current in the conductor and a MF perpendicular to the current. The photon - drag effect with electrons – acoustic phonon scattering in cylindrical quantum wire with an infinite potential is studied. With the appearance of the linearly polarized electromagnetic wave, the laser radiation field and the dc electric field, analytic expressions for the density of the direct current are calculated by the quantum kinetic equation.

The nonlinear absorption of a strong electromagnetic wave caused by confined electrons in cylindrical quantum wires is theoretically studied by using the quantum kinetic equation for electrons. The problem is considered in the case electron-acoustic phonon scattering. Analytic expressions for the dependence of the nonlinear absorption coefficient of a strong electromagnetic wave by confined electrons in rectangular quantum wires on the temperature T are obtained.
