Understanding the tectonic mechanism generated by the earthquakes and faults is possible only if the preseismic, coseismic and postseismic crustal deformation related to the earthquakes is determined properly. By the analysis of continuous GPS (CGPS) coordinate time series, it is possible to estimate the crustal deformation. Besides, accelerometer records at strong motion stations (SMSs) may support the CGPS-based estimates.

The greatest advantage of this method is its accuracy and rapidness. The EEW system issues several alarm messages during the course of one earthquake, improving the accuracy of the warning as the amount of available data increases. The EEWis transmitted to many kinds of devices and used for personal safety and automatic control. It is very important to observe strong motion in real-time using a dense network in order to improve the EEWsystem.

In this paper, a method to prepare video data is proposed consisting of a shot boundary detection technique on the basis of tracking camera motion through the background areas to the video frame (background tracking) and of some other steps to discard noise and to reduce false segmentation for increasing the accuracy of the video stream segmentation. Measures to be taken to overcome the problem of object’s and camera’s motion are proposed and an enhanced algorithm for segmenting video data is also reported.

For the complex parabolic Ginzburg-Landau equation, we prove that, asymptotically, vorticity evolves according to motion by mean curvature in Brakke’s weak formulation. The only assumption is a natural energy bound on the initial data. In some cases, we also prove convergence to enhanced motion in the sense of Ilmanen.
