In the greenhouse experiment, wheat plants (Triticum aestivum L. cv. Giza 168) were treated with 10 mM of maltose and trehalose as foliar spray using Tween 20 as wetting agent at 15, 30 and 45 days post sowing with two times of irrigation at 10 and 20 days intervals. Two samples were taken after 45 and 120 days from planting.

Soil salinity threatens the yield and food security worldwide and use of halophytes might be a valid option to cope with devastating salinity effects. The present investigation was accomplished to evaluate the role of glycine betaine (GB) as presowing seed treatment on growth parameters, photosynthetic pigments, gas exchange attributes, enzymatic antioxidants, lipid peroxidation (MDA), hydrogen peroxide (H2 O2 ), endogenous GB, total soluble proteins (TSP), and yield in quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) under saline conditions.

Field pea is a legume most commonly consumed all over the world and is very popular in the vegetarian diets because of high levels of amino acids, lysine and tryptophan presence in it as compared to cereals. A field experiment was carried out in Inceptisols of Midland AICRPDA, during rabi 2020-21 in Instructional cum Research Farm, S.G. College of Agriculture and Research Station, I.G.K.V., Kumhrawand, Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, India lies at 19°5'17.79"N latitude and 81°57'44.99"E longitude with an altitude of 552 meters above mean sea level. The experiment consists of five treatments viz.

Interaction between wilt, root rot and root knot complex in lentil was evaluated and formulated its management strategies. Population of plant parasitic nematodes in rhizosphere was observed as pre - and post- sowing of of lentil and found that when variety K-75 was grown, the population of Meloidogyne sp. was increased to be 950, 1000, 1550, after 30, 60 and 90 days, respectively as compared to population 450, in case of essential population before growing of crop.

Four cultivars of sorghum were tested under three in situ moisture conservation practices during kharif seasons of 2015 and 2016 at Kanpur. Results revealed that the organic residue mulch @ 4 t ha-1 on soil surface in between the crop rows after 25 days of sowing brought out significant improvement in crop canopy development and yields over ridging and furrowing in between the crop rows at 25 DAS and farmer's practice (control).

This study was taken to know the weed control efficiency of herbicides in chickpea intercropping with lentil. The weed competition was highest during 30 DAS and the maximum weed density was found in 60 and 90 DAS. Weed species were recorded such as broadleaf weeds like Coronopus didymus, Chenopodium album, Melilotus officinalis, Phalaris minor, etc. The main focus of this experiment was to study dry matter accumulation by weeds at different days after sowing (30, 60, 90, and 120).

The present investigation was carried out with the objectives to evaluate the efficacy of thirteen short listed Arthrobacter isolates under field conditions with special reference to germination, photosynthetic activity, yield, nodulation characters and nutrient uptake by soybean. Field evaluation was done during kharif 2015-16 at Research Field of Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, JNKVV, Jabalpur, M.P. Outcome of the experimental findings revealed that most of the isolates showed their role for early seed germination at 4th and 6th days after sowing (DAS).

In the present study, seven okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) cultivars were evaluated for their resistance against M. incognita under field condition. Among seven cultivars none of the cultivars were found completely resistant. The cultivars ArkaAbhay and Anoop were found to be moderately resistant to M. incognita with root-knot indices of 3.0 (11 to 30 galls) at 60 days after sowing and at harvest. Arkaanamika, Usha, Rashi-20, Akshay and Solar-10 were found susceptible to M. incognita with root-knot indices of 4.0 (31 to 100 galls) at 60 days after sowing and at harvest.

The yield losses in maize due to turcicum leaf blight were determined by using two susceptible maize cultivars viz., CM-202 and CM-219 J under artificial epiphytotic condition. The experimented was conducted with two treatments i.e., inoculated with Exserohilum turcicum pathogen culture (conidiospores) through leaf whorl inoculation starting from 25 days after sowing and protected with spray of Hexaconazole @0.2 per cent. The maximum grain yield loss recorded in CM-219 J (37.64 %) followed by CM-202 (30.94 %).

Effect of date of sowing and cutting schedule on fodder yield and quality of oats was studied at two location during rabi 2016-17. Treatments comprised of 4 sowing dates (10th & 25th of Oct. and Nov.) and two cutting schedules (one cut 50/60 DAS). Results revealed that crop sown on 1st and 2nd date gave similar fodder yield but significantly higher than the later dates. Cutting the crop 65 days after sowing produced higher fodder yield than cutting 50 DAS, though with slight deterioration in quality.

Population fluctuations of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita during crop season were studied on cucumber in two poly-houses of different locations. For the observations plant and soil samples were taken at fifteen days intervals throughout the crop season up to 120 days. Results showed that lowest 2.60 and highest 74.00 galls/5g roots of cucumber found at 15 and 120 days after sowing. No egg masses observed just 15 days after sowing of crops due to root-knot nematode complete their entire life cycle within 25 to 30 days.

Leaf spots are the most serious foliar fungal diseases of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) World wide. Early leaf spot and late leaf spots, singly or together can cause losses in pod yield of over 50% and reduce the quality of the pod and fodder. Screening of genotypes and advance breeding lines is one of the primary objective for resistance breeding in groundnut. Present investigation was carried out to screen 33 advance breeding lines and 7 released varieties of groundnut against early and late leaf spot diseases.
