In this paper, the authors used multi-source data, including the electric field data observed by EFM-100C at Rescue Station No. 1 on the “Bai Sau” beach in Vung Tau coastal area for 166 days from May to October 2019; Himawari satellite data and Nha Be weather radar data and the GLD-360 lightning position data to evaluate the lightning warning method. Radar and satellite data were used to determine deep convective clouds. The GLD-360 lightning position data were used to examine the consistency of lightning location with the deep convective clouds.

The project's main objectives were to analyse the data obtained during geological exploration and use it to model and predict biological patterns in order to answer the main research questions: 1) Is there a statistical relationship between the environmental parameters and the benthic community composition and morphospecies observed? 2) Can predictive models be developed from this relationship? Herein, 20 ichnospecies belonging to 8 ichnogenera were identified in bivalves, gastropods, and corals (n = 701) from the Late Pleistocene coral reef along the Red Sea coast, northwest Saudi Arabia. The trace fossils were produced by clionid sponges (47.39%), endolithic bivalves (42.17%), polychaete annelids (5.42%), vermetid gastropods (3.81%), and acrothoracican barnacles (1.21%). The habitat conditions changed gradually, from well-oxygenated, shallow, high-energy back-reef and reef crest bioeroding polychaetes and bivalves, to deep, low-energy reef slope dominated by boring sponges.

In this work, three pelagic species have been recorded in the Northern Aegean Sea. The species were collected from depths between 500 and 800 m from 5 stations in summer 2016. While Euphausia krohnii is first recorded from the Turkish coast of the Aegean Sea, Allosergestes sargassi and Flaccisagitta hexaptera are reported for the first time from the Turkish seas. The results of the current study will contribute to the knowledge on the deep-water pelagic fauna of the Northern Aegean Sea.

The fauna collected associated with subfossil Lophelia pertusa and Dendrophyllia cornigera coral samples and hardgrounds from Albanian waters between 190–230 m is discussed. Eighty-three benthic species are recorded: 2 Foraminifera, 22 Porifera, 6 Cnidaria, 25 Mollusca, 14 Annelida, 1 Arthropoda, 12 Bryozoa, and 1 Echinodermata. Seventy-four species are new records for the poorly investigated Albanian deep waters.

This study tested the development of a wavefield simulation model for the East Sea area with good quality, replacing global data sources to be proactive in data sources in order to serve detailed hydrodynamic calculations for coastal areas. The model toolkit used is MIKE 21 FM, this is a widely used toolkit in the world thanks to its advantages such as user-friendliness, good computing support, and simulation of many hydrodynamic problems.

Deep-sea hydrothermal vents are unique chemoautotrophic ecosystems with harsh conditions. Alvinocaris longirostris is one of the dominant crustacean species inhabiting in these extreme environments. It is significant to clarify mechanisms in their adaptation to the vents. Lysine acetylation has been known to play critical roles in the regulation of many cellular processes. However, its function in A. longirostris and even marine invertebrates remains elusive. Our study is the first, to our knowledge, to comprehensively investigate lysine acetylome in A. longirostris.
