This paper applies the homotopy analysis method to study nonlinear free vibrations. The paper has used the homotopy analysis method to find analytical solutions of a nonlinear two-degree-of-freedom system. Analytical results have found the natural oscillation frequencies, the displacement formula of the system are approximately calculated at the 10th order.

We present a generalized three-variable high order shear deformation theory (THSDT) using isogeometric analysis (IGA) to analyze free vibration of functionally graded porous (FGP) plates reinforced by graphene platelets (GPLs) in this work. It is named as FGP-GPLs for a short. The proposed theory only has got three degrees of freedom (DOFs) per node as the same way of numerically solutions in three-dimensional (3D) solids.

A damage diagnosis method for trusses based on incomplete free vibration properties utilizing ensemble learning, e.g. Extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), is presented in this work. Owing to the lack of measurement sensors, modal features are only measured at master degrees of freedom (DOFs) of a few first models instead of all DOFs of a structural system.

The motion equation of a one-degree-of-freedom system when subjected to earthquakes is usually not solved by analytic methods. This problem can only be solved through the time step method, when integrating differential equations. This paper is devoted to presenting a numerical solution for a seismic analysis problem of a highway bridge pier with high damping rubber bearings under earthquakes.

The equations of state of asymmetric nuclear matter (ANM) starting from the effective potential in a one-loop approximation is investigated. In this paper, we estimate the scale of time consumption of such calculation in comparison to that of time-independent calculation, and present our solution to the problem by using parallel computing as implementing both MPI and OpenMP to the calculation. We also discuss the possibility to exploit parallel computing with GPU in the near future, and the preliminary results of time-dependent spectral function.
