Nutrition and health counselling (NHC) was usually conducted in hospital settings with groups of mothers. Barriers to counselling were long queues and delays, long distances and high travel costs, the inapplicability of the counselling content, lack of spousal support, and a high domestic workload.

Anomalous coronary artery origins are not common in routine clinical practice. The incidence of coronary anomalies in patients undergoing coronary angiography is less than 1%. The greatest challenges faced in the management are delays in identification and difficulty engaging the anomalous coronary artery. Operator experience in promptly identifying the anomaly and selection of the appropriate catheter is critical for successful intervention.

Iatrogenic left main coronary artery dissection is a rare but serious complication that can occur both during diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention. Early diagnosis and choice of opti‑ mal management are of crucial importance for patient’s outcome while representing a challenge for clinicians.

Age-related decline in cognitive function, such as executive function, is associated with structural changes in the neural substrates, such as volume reductions in the lateral prefrontal cortex. To prevent or delay agerelated changes in cognitive function, cognitive intervention methods that employ social activity, including conversations, have been proposed in some intervention studies.

Catastrophic thinking and fear-avoidance belief are negatively influencing severe acute pain following surgery causing delayed ambulation and discharge. We aimed to examine if a preoperative intervention of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) could influence the early postsurgical outcome following lumbar spinal fusion surgery (LSF).

A major challenge facing those with late stage osteoarthritis is delayed surgery due to waiting lists. In South Africa patients wait years for a hip/knee arthroplasty. Affected patients require effective management to address their pain, especially while awaiting surgery.

Better surgical techniques, chemotherapy and biological therapy have improved survival in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC), most markedly in younger patients. About half of patients over 70 years receive dose reductions or early treatment discontinuation of the planned adjuvant or first-line treatment due to side effects.

This work was envisaged to develop compression-coated tablets using a blend of Ca+2 ion crosslinked carboxymethyl xanthan gum (CMXG) and sodium alginate (SAL) for delayed release of immediate pulse release tablets of prednisolone (PDL) in the colon without the need of colonic bacterial intervention for degradation of the polysaccharide coat. The core tablets containing PDL and other compatible excipients were prepared by direct compression method and subsequently compression coated with different ratios of CMXG and SAL.

Early language delay is a high-prevalence condition of concern to parents and professionals. It may result in lifelong deficits not only in language function, but also in social, emotional/behavioural, academic and economic well-being. Such delays can lead to considerable costs to the individual, the family and to society more widely.

Early Intervention (EI) is a federally mandated, state-administered system of care for children with developmental delays and disabilities under the age of three. Gaps exist in the process of accessing EI through pediatric primary care, and low rates of EI access are well documented and disproportionately affect poor and minority children.

The need for early intervention tools adapted to the First Nation culture is well documented. However, standards derived from First Nation communities are absent from the literature. This study examines the psychometric properties of an adaptation of a caregiver-completed screening tool, the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ), for the Mohawk population.

This article firstly presents the concept of delay discounting and the discount functions. Secondly, it summarizes the evidences for the relationship between delay discounting and health risk behaviors and describes how the discount functions explain these behaviors’ patterns. Finally, it introduces some strategies to reduce delay discounting in order to improve health behaviors and makes suggestions for school-based intervention programs targeting health risk behaviors in Vietnam.
