Gerbera is one of the important commercial cut flower which is in great demand in domestic as well as international market. Though suited for a wide range of climates, the crop’s performance varies in different locations and climatic conditions. The present investigation was conducted during Rabi season of 2010–11and 2011-12 at Greenhouse Complex, ASPEE College of Horticulture and Forestry, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat with an object to evaluate suitable varieties on the basis of growth, flower and yield parameters of gerbera under South Gujarat conditions.

Due to the increasing popularity of gold as an investment the demand for effective risk management techniques for gold investments has increased as well. In this paper we analyze several drivers of the price of gold that have been proposed in the past. Our analysis indicates that short-term volatility of the price of gold remains rather unpredictable with many of the explanations like the fund flows in physical gold ETF either unreliable or unstable over time.

Globally, pork is the most consumed meat but in India, consumption of pork is limited to few regions of the country. Pigs being the efficient feed converters can solve the problem of increasing meat demand due to population rise and also supplement the income of poor and small/marginal farmers. Learning from the success stories of few progressive farmers, one easily derives that piggeries are the new found gold mines and their potential is yet untapped in our country.

There are signifi cant development plans for the Northern Precinct in coming years, however no development approvals have been granted, so in the short term an undersupply in the marketplace is anticipated. Pent-up demand for product within this precinct will also ensure an oversupply is not apparent when these new developments, for example Barangaroo and Gold Fields House, are released to the market. What does a dwindling supply level really mean to the consumer? In all likelihood a lack of supply will translate into further upward pressures on prices for apartments.
