In this paper, we propose a method for investigating the solvability and iterative solution of coupled beams equations with fully nonlinear terms. Differently from other authors, we reduce the problem to an operator equation for the right-hand side functions. The advantage of the proposed method is that it does not require any Nagumo-type conditions for the nonlinear terms. Some examples, where exact solution of the problem are known or not, demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results.

In the present paper, a comparative study on the synthesis of the metal-organic framework–199 (MOF–199) using the microwave and solvothermal method was demonstrated. The obtained materials were characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms and thermal gravity. The microwave synthesis of MOF–199 was compared with the conventional hydrothermal synthesis. The results showed that MOF–199 could be obtained in a much shorter time with improved yield and textural properties under the microwave irradiation.

In this paper, an advanced logarithmic phase mask is proposed and its performance is investigated. The essential performance characteristics of phase masks are shown, including the defocused modulation transfer functions (MTF), integral area of the MTF, Hilbert space angle, non-axial Strehl ratio, and decoded images. The results have demonstrated that our phase mask is highly beneficial to extend the depth of field of hybrid optical systems. The advantages of the proposed phase mask in comparison to some other masks are also pointed out.

The aim of our software presentation is to demonstrate that corpus-driven bilingual dictionaries generated fully by automatic means are suitable for human use. Previous experiments have proven that bilingual lexicons can be created by applying word alignment on parallel corpora. Such an approach, especially the corpus-driven nature of it, yields several advantages over more traditional approaches. Most importantly, automatically attained translation probabilities are able to guarantee that the most frequently used translations come first within an entry.
