Forty five linseed genotypes were subjected to study the interrelationship among the traits at the Experimental Farm of the Department of Crop Improvement, CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, during rabi 2015-2016. The genotypic and phenotypic correlation coefficient obtained between different traits was similar in direction, while in magnitude, genotypic correlation was higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlations for most of the traits.

Departamento de Bioquı´mica y Biologı´a Molecular y Celular, Facultad de Ciencias, Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain; Department of Chemistry, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Reduction potential determinations of K75E, E139K and E301A ferredoxin-NADP+ reductases provide valuable information concerning the factors that contribute to tune the flavin reduction potential. Thus, while E139 is not involved in such modulation, the K75 side-chain tunes the flavin potential by creating a defined environment that modulates the FAD conformation. ...

Research on the regulation of transcription in mammals initially focused on the mechanism of transcriptional acti-vation andpositive control of gene regulation. In contrast, transcriptional repression and negative control of gene transcription was viewed rather as part of theprokaryotic book of biology. However, results obtained in recent years have shown convincingly that transcriptional repression mediated by repressor proteins is a common regulatory mechanism in mammals and may play a key role in many biological processes. ...

Disulfide pairings and active site residues are highly conserved in secretory phospholipases A2 (PLA2s). However, secretory PLA2 s of marine inverte-brates display some distinctive structural features. In this study, we report the isolation and characterization of a PLA2 from the northern Pacific sea anemone,Urticina crassicornis(UcPLA2), containing a C27N substitution and a truncated C-terminal sequence.
