A field experiment was conducted at farming system research unit of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kandhamal as a part of ongoing effort to collect the data in connection to dry matter accumulation and partitioning in three cultivars of cow pea during growth and development stages in two consecutive summer and Kharif season of the year 2012-13 and 2013-14. The dry matter partitioning had been worked out at 30, 45 and 60 DAS from the stem, leaves and at only 60 DAS from the pods.

The present investigation entitled “To compare the effect of weather on growth, development and yield of chickpea under irrigated and unirrigated conditions” was conducted during rabi season 2013-14 at Research Farm of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (Chhattisgarh). Studies were carried out on different phenological stages right from sowing to harvesting under irrigated and unirrigated conditions in the three dates of sowing.

Soybean crop is grown predominantly under rainfed conditions in Vidarbha region where weather parameters play an important role at different phenophase of the crop influencing the growth, development and final yield performance. But amongst them, only few parameters are significantly contributing to the crop growth and yield. So in order to identify such parameters and quantify their contribution, a field investigation was carried out with four sowing times and three varieties with four replications and 12 treatments.

The experiment was deigned to find out the best alternative way to grow healthy tomato seedling under water stress condition. Three different protected and unprotected conditions (Polyhouse, Low tunnel and open field condition) were selected for sowing of seedling. Open field condition was taken up as a control. Production of healthy and vigorous tomato seedling is most important factor in successful commercial production and yield of quality tomato fruits.

Among all major pulses grown in India, pea (Pisum sativum L.) is considered as one of the important pulse crop. Pea diseases are major constraints to pea production in the developing countries. A field experiment was conducted at fruit research station, Imliya, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur to study the influence of GA3 and date of sowing on growth and development of custard apple seedlings. Significantly, maximum fresh weight of roots (0.75g), dry weight of root (0.20g) and total dry matter (0.37g) were obtained at 120 days after germination under 500ppm GA3 treatment. Application of Lambda cyhalothrin 5EC@ 1.0 ml l-1 for two different varieties under four sowing windows produced significantly higher values of growth characters i.e. Initial (4,43,618) and final (4,41,482) plant population, plant height (60.96), number of branches plant-1 (8.94), number of leaves plant-1 (19.48), leaf area plant-1 (14.80dm2 ), leaf area index (6.58), dry matter accumulation (18.04) resulting in significant increase in pod numbers and grain yield during the years 2013 and 2014 as compared to unprotected conditions and delayed sowing windows.
