  • Achillea alimeana Semiz & Uysal sp. nov. of sect. Santolinoidea DC. (Asteraceae), was described, diagnosed and illustrated as a new species. It was collected from Akdağ Mountains in Denizli Province. In this paper, the diagnostic characters of A. alimeana and its similar species were discussed in the morphological, palynological and molecular findings. As regards the new species, some notes on the ecology, conservation status, and distribution were submitted. A diagnostic key was given for related taxa.

  • Eriophyoid mites are recognized as the second most economically important group among the Acari following spider mites. The identification of eriopyhoid mites traditionally based on morphological characters.   • Hypericum turcicum (Hypericaceae) is described and illustrated as a new species from Beypazarı in Ankara Province in Northwest Anatolia, Turkey. The new species belongs to the section Oligostema, and it is closely related to H. aucheri. Diagnostic characters, description, detailed illustrations, ecology, and pollen and seed morphology are presented in this study. In addition, this study evaluates H. kazdaghense, which was previously accepted as a synonym of H. aucheri, as a distinct species and discusses the similarities and differences between H. turcicum and H. aucheri.

  • Anthemis ekicii (Asteraceae) is described and illustrated as a new species from Tuz Lake in Aksaray Province in Central Anatolia. The new species belongs to the section Anthemis, and it is closely related to A. pauciloba var. pauciloba, from which it differs in stem, leaves, and capitulum features. Diagnostic characters, description, detailed illustrations, ecology, IUCN conservation status, and pollen and seed morphology are presented in this study.

  • In the present study, 50 germplasm accessions of foxtail millet [Setaria italica (L.) Beauv.] were evaluated based on DUS descriptors for six morphological (qualitative) traits viz., plant growth habit, plant pigmentation at auricle, inflorescence shape, inflorescence compactness, lobe compactness, seed colour and six quantitative characters viz., flag leaf: blade length (cm), flag leaf: blade width (cm), peduncle length (cm), peduncle exertion, panicle length (cm) and plant height at maturity (cm).

  • Bellevalia malatyaensis Uzunh. & H.Duman is described and illustrated as a new species from East Anatolia. The distribution area of this species is restricted to Erkenek (Malatya)–Gölbaşı (Adıyaman). It grows in open areas of Pinus brutia Ten. forest. It resembles Bellevalia gracilis Feinbrun, but differs in scapose habitus, leaves, and characters of the capsule.

Macro- and micromorphological characters, including seed shape, colour, size, seed surface, epidermal cell shape, anticlinal boundaries, and periclinal cell wall are presented.
