The present objective was undertaken to investigate the better transplanting time for the minimized damage due to DBM. The results of field studies shown that the planting dates had significant effect on the incidence of DBM. Early planted crops recorded significantly lower leaf damage than the late planted crops.

Field experiments were conducted during Rabi season of 2012-13 and 2013-14. The study revealed that the major natural enemies recorded were coccinellids, Coccinella septempunctata (Fab.), Cheilomenes sexmaculatus (Fab.) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae); common green lacewing, Chrysoperla sp. (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae); aphid parasitoid, Diaeretiella sp. (Hymenoptera: Braconnidae); diamond back moth and tobacco caterpillar on parasitoid of Cotesia sp. (Hymenoptera: Braconidae).

A field experiment was conducted at student's farm, college of agriculture, Rajendranagar, Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, A.P during the year 2011-12 in a randomized block design with seven insecticidal treatments which were replicated three times and tested against DBM (Plutella xylostella) on cabbage.

The present study was conducted to know the comparative efficacy of Entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana and certain indigenous products against the larvae of diamond back moth, Plutella xylostella (Linn) on Cabbage (Brassica oleracea) a lab trial was conducted during the 2017-2018 at SHUATS, Allahabad. All the treatments were found significantly superior over control. Among the treatments the highest larval mortality of 100 % with the treatment T4 and the minimum larval mortality of 26.666% was recorded with the treatment T2 (NL+BBM).

Plant and pest coexist on this planet from the ages. Chemical pesticides are generally used to reduce the damage caused by the pest. As chemical pesticides are costly and hamful for ecosystem, biopesticides are gaining importance. Biopesticides are cost effective and ecofriendly. In India, biopesticides covers 3 per cent of total pesticide production. Biopesticides usage in India rose 23 per cent from 2010-11 to 2016-17 while chemical pesticides only 2 per cent.
