Nutritional impact symptoms (NISs) are proposed to be a key indicator of decreased dietary intake in patients with solid cancer. Cancer patients frequently experience NIS from the disease itself and from disease treatment side effects that impact oral and gastrointestinal health. This study also sought to identify the types of treatment and other factors related to dietary intake for solid cancer patients.

Ebook "Critical dietary factors in cancer chemoprevention" focuses on the prophylactic potential of diet-derived factors in primary prevention of cancer. It is written by a group of highly reputed experts in the area of dietary agents and cancer chemoprevention. The translational potential of dietary factors from epidemiological, laboratory and clinical studies as prevention strategy in normal and risk populations is highlighted.

Dietary fiber intake, the gut microbiome, and chronic systemic inflammation in a cohort of adult men
A higher intake of dietary fiber is associated with a decreased risk of chronic inflammatory diseases such as cardiovascular disease and inflammatory bowel disease. This may function in part due to abrogation of chronic systemic inflammation induced by factors such as dysbiotic gut communities.

In this study, we dissect the subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) methylome signature relevant to metabolic health by focusing on VF as the major risk factor of metabolic disease. We integrate results with genetic, blood methylation, SAT gene expression, blood metabo‑ lomic, dietary intake and metabolic phenotype data to assess and quantify genetic and environmental drivers of the identified signals, as well as their potential functional roles.

Endomyocardial fibrosis is a grim disease. It is the most common restrictive cardiomyopathy worldwide, but the exact etiology and pathogenesis both remain unknown. Endomyocardial fibrosis is recurrently associated with chronic eosinophilia and probable dietary, environmental, and infectious factors, which contribute not only to the onset of the disease (an inflammatory process) but also to its progression and maintenance (endomyocardial damage and scar formation).

It would be very helpful to stratify patients and direct patient selection if risk factors for quality of life were identified in a particular population. Nonetheless, it is still challenging to forecast the health-related quality of life among individuals with spinal metastases.

Diet may impact important risk factors for endometrial cancer such as obesity and inflammation. However, evidence on the role of specific dietary factors is limited. We investigated associations between dietary fatty acids and endometrial cancer risk in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC).

Eating practices represent a set of social modes relating to human nutrition, influenced by culture, religion and trends. Knowledge of good dietary practices is needed in order to understand the risk factors associated with poor nutrition, which have an impact on the physical and mental health of young children. Togo is undergoing a dietary transition that is affecting all social strata as a result of urbanisation and globalisation.
