This study aimed at synthesizing hydrogels to simulate opaque breast tissue (BT) and coloured cancerous tissues (CT) at different densities of the designed phantom to improve the biopsy-related skills along with ultrasonography. Both tissues are tearresistant and therefore, the phantom can be trained multiple times in order to lower the price and improve the eye-hand coordination of users.

The maximum yield potential of Bt cotton is yet to be trapped under irrigated conditions which is low for various reasons. Among the different constraints in cotton major reduction in yield is due to leaf reddening which results in 30-60% of yield loss. Leaf reddening in cotton is also known as red leaf disease (lal patti). This disorder is an outcome of interaction of location, variety, environmental condition and nitrogen, potassium, magnesium etc. supply.

Maximum yield is achieved at optimum plant density which depends upon environmental condition, cropping system and cultivar (Bridge et al., 1973; El-Shinnawy and Ghaly, 1985; Halemani and Hallikeri, 2002). However, farmers are adopting various plant geometries with wider row spacings as well as closer plant spacings. As Bt cotton cultivation has resulted in early setting of bolls, ultimately it requires more nutrients. The present study was carried out to know the effect of spacing and fertility levels growth and yield of Bt cotton.

Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) is the most important cash crop and there is a demand for simultaneous increase in the productivity of cotton, edible oilseeds and fodders to fulfil the diversified needs of growing population. For this purpose, cotton-based intercropping seems to be a promising strategy. Short duration legume fodders are potential sources of nutrients during summer especially atmospheric nitrogen fixing which are supplement of inorganic fertilizers.

Major threat to highly productive cotton belt of North India is Cotton Leaf Curl Disease exclusively transmitted by whitefly (Bemisia tabaci). The present investigation was carried out at Research farm of department of Agricultural Meteorology, CCS HAU, Hisar Haryana, to evaluate progression of CLCuD and whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) in relation to weather parameters. Three Bt -cotton hybrids were sown at three different dates. Per cent CLCuD incidence increases continuously from appearance to picking.

The field experiment was conducted at Agronomy Farm, Anand Agricultural University, Anand (Lat.: 220 35’ N, Log.: 720 55’ E & 45.1 m above msl) during rabi season in 2011- 2012. The treatment comprised of five levels of irrigation schedule Viz., I1 (CRI, TL, BT, FL, ML, SD), I2 (0.4 IW: CPE ratio), I3 (0.6 IW: CPE ratio), I4 (0.8 IW: CPE ratio) and I5 (1.0 IW: CPE ratio) in randomized block design (RBD) within four replications. The main aim is to quantify the agrometeorological indices of wheat crop.

To study the effect of different rates and times of N application on productivity and fiber quality of Bt cotton, a field experiment was conducted during the rainy (June-November) seasons of 2014 at the research farm of ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India. Nine treatments were formed by combinations of the two factors i.e. four N rates (100, 125, 150, and 175 kg ha-1 ) and two timings of N application (i.e. with 30 kg N ha-1 as basal and without basal) with a control.

A field experiment was conducted during Kharif 2010-11 at the Main Agricultural Research Station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad to study the response of secondary treated distillery spentwash on physiological and quality parameters of Bt cotton under rainfed condition. Result indicated that application of 1.5 N through distillery spentwash significantly increased the total dry matter production (339.7 g plant-1 ), leaf area (51.3 dm2 plant-1 ), LAI (0.95), good opened bolls plant-1 (31.2) and yield (2566.1 kg ha-1 ), but was on par with 1 N through spentwash.
