The paper generalizes one practical tool for analyzing the structural dynamics for the high-speed railway bridge based on Cast3M open-source. Compared with the classical approach with the analytical formulation, KD-Railway developed by the finite element method allows defining the structure with complex geometry and considering a different type of structure (truss, cable, hybrid composite) or the structure-soil interaction.

The main aim of this work is to use a finite element method (FEM) based on Shi’s third-order shear deformation plate theory (TSDT) to study the dynamic response of sandwich plates subjected to consecutive blast loading. The sandwich plate has an auxetic honeycomb core and two different functionally graded materials (FGMs) skin layers (so-called h-FGS plates).

In this study, it is split into two main steps. First, an analytical design is proposed to define the desired parameters with affects of different flux air gaps. The influence of non-metallic elements on crystal structure, morphology, surface area, bonding state, and light absorption ability of materials was studied through XRD, SEM, BET spectra, and UVis - DRS.

By using an extensive three-dimensional discrete element method, we numerically investigate the effects of lightweight particle content on the mechanical strength of the cylindrical aggregates, randomly composed of two different groups of primary particles: light (low stiffness) and heavy (high stiffness), and the stress contribution of the heavy-heavy, light-heavy, and light-light interactions on the mechanical behavior of such aggregates, subjected to the compression test by using a constant downward velocity.

The efficient synthesis of 12-substituted-3,4,4a,5,12,12a-hexahydrobenzo[b]acridine-1,6,11(2H)-triones starting from 2-amino-1,4-naphthoquinone, 1,3-cyclohexanedione, and different (hetero)aromatic aldehydes was developed. These reactions were carried out in acetic acid under microwave irradiation in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst. The structure of the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed employing spectroscopic data as well as elemental analysis. The plausible mechanism of these three-component domino reactions was also described.

This study further supports this theory by the analysis of the posters of fifteen top grossing American romantic comedies. Based on Kress and Van Leeuwen’s framework (2006), the research indicates the similarities and differences in using semiotic elements to create meaning and promote the movies. The results not only identify the patterns in designing movie posters but also examine the effectiveness of the framework in analyzing multimodal texts.

In this study, the content of As, Cd and Hg in fruiting bodies was determined. These three elements were determined in 94 Macrolepiota procera (Scop.) Singer samples (separately for caps and stems) and their corresponding soils/substrates collected from 8 different localities in Slovakia. Arsenic and cadmium were analyzed by Optical Emission Spectrometry with Inductively Coupled Plasma (OESICP), and mercury by Advanced Mercury Analyzer (AMA-254). In the soil/substrate As content varied from ND (not detected) to 11.9, Cd from 0.66 to 22.9 and Hg from 0.02 to 0.

In this study, we evaluated chemical responses of K. obovata and S. caseolaris through comparisons of the content of metabolites and element ions in leaves of mangrove plants located under different ecological conditions in the Red River delta. In the low salinity area (Thuy Truong), specific leaf areas of K. obovata and S. caseolaris were much lower while the succulent index was higher compared to those in the high salinity area (Kim Trung).
