An experiment was conducted during 2019-20 at INS farm -1, SOADU, Bhubaneswar in order to study the variation regarding morphological parameters, plant physiological condition, and survival of the grafts, when different varieties were used as scion material. The experiment consists of five different popular mango varieties namely cv. Mallika, cv. Arka Neelachal Kesari, cv. Arka Puneet, cv. Amrapalli, and cv. Dussehri as scion varieties. One local cv. “Ganga” cultivar was used as rootstock for all the scion varieties and was also used as one of the scion (control).

The study on effect of packaging and storage condition on the shelf life and chemical composition of mango cv. Himsagar was carried out at Department of Post-Harvest Technology of Horticultural Crops, Faculty of Horticulture, BCKV, Nadia. The fruits of cultivar were harvested at fully mature but unripe stage and were packed in different packages (Un-perforated LDPE, Perforated LDPE, Plastic crate, CFB box and Perforated LDPE with CFB box) and placed in cold store (12±1ºC; 85-90% RH) whereas control was without packaging under ambient condition.

The varietal evaluation study was conducted on 43 mango cultivars at Horticulture Research Centre, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. The fruit shape, weight, size, pulp stone ratio, fibre content, lenticels density and other surface morphological traits of different varieties were evaluated in Randomized Block Design for two consecutive years i.e. 2012-13 and 2013-14.

Mango is designated as “King” of fruits due to its wide adaptability, high nutritive value, richness in variety, delicious taste, pleasant flavour and attractive appearance. Fruits are rich in vitamin A and C Application of agro-chemicals alters the behaviour of trees for the economic benefit of the fruit growers. In this regard an experiment was conducted at Agriculture Research Station, Banswara district of Rajasthan to find out the response of different agro-chemicals.

The main aim of the research was to investigate the physico-chemical attributes of different mango cultivars for both the years. Outcome of the present research work revealed that minimum stone length (5.72 cm) and stone breadth (1.92 cm) was recorded in Sepiya. Minimum peel weight was recorded in Gulabkhas (21.80 g) and minimum peel percentage (9.01%) was observed in Mallika.

Three cutivars of mango viz; Amrapali, Dashehari, Mallika and one seedling mango were evaluated for production of foam mat dried powder. Initially, physico-chemical properties were determined. Mango Pulp of different cultivars was foamed by carboxy -methyl - cellulose (CMC) at different concentrations 0, 1.0 and 2.0% followed by drying in tray drier for preparation of instant mango powder.

The effect of pre harvest spraying of calcium chloride (CaCl2) and calcium nitrate (Ca NO3) @ 0.5 and 1% on shelf life and quality attributes of mango cvs Dashehari and Amrapali was investigated. Pre harvest spray was carried out on fully grown mango trees prior to one month of harvesting following second subsequent spray, 15 days after of first one. Full ripe fruits of both the cultivars were packed in brown papers bags after washing and surface air drying and stored under ambient condition (36 ± 20C at 75 ± 3% RH).

The present study was carried out to assess the genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance for different characters in 16 diverse cultivars of mango. The study was conducted at Regional Research Station, Gayeshpur during 2016 and 2018. Random sampling strategy was followed for collection of samples. All the characters showed very small difference between genotypic coefficient of variation (GCV) and respective phenotypic coefficient of variation (PCV), indicated that all the characters were least affected by environment.

The experiment was conducted with four mango cultivars i.e. Dasherhari, Langra, S.B. Chausa and Amrapali in Fruit Technology Laboratory of the Department of Horticulture, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar to assess the storage of squash at room temperature prepared from fresh mango pulp of three concentration i.e. 25% pulp, 30% pulp and 35% pulp. The TSS (46.6%) and Acidity (0.892%) was recorded maximum in squash prepared from cultivar S.B. Chausa. TSS content of squash increased significantly from 45% on 0 day to 47.

The protocol for high frequency induction of callus from nucellus tissue was re initiation attained in polyembryonic mango cultivars Vellaikolumban and Olour. Among different sterilization treatments followed, dipping fruits in 70 % ethanol +followed by treating them in Cetrimide 1000 ppm - 15 minutes further treating with NaOCl - 1 % +Tween 20 (one drop per 100 ml) for 15 minutes and Flame sterilisation under laminar air flow found to be the best treatment.
