Different nitrogen management methods
-
Nitrogen application can effectively mitigate the damage to crop growth and yield caused by drought. However, the efficiency of heavy nitrogen application before drought (NBD) and heavy nitrogen application after drought (NAD) to regulate rice response to drought stress remains controversial.

Spatial distribution of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium were studied from 99 coconut farmers covering 195 acres representing different irrigation situations in Chikkapattanagere of Chikkamagaluru district, Doddaghatta of Davangere district, Siriyur of Shivamogga district and Madhure of Chitradurga district of Karnataka state, India. The gardens selected were aged 20-25 years with varying management levels.

A field experiment was conducted during Kharif2018 at Research Farm, College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur. The treatment consist of two methods of crop establishment viz. broadcasting and transplanting with five integrated nitrogen management viz. 100% RDN through urea, 75% RDN through urea + 25% RDN through FYM, 50% RDN through urea + 50% RDN through FYM and 100% RDN through FYM and control.

A field experiment was conducted at Research Farm, Dr. RPCAU Pusa, Bihar during kharif 2018 on calcareous sandy loam soil, having pH 8.57, medium in soil organic carbon content (0.65 %), EC 0.35 dSm-1 , available nitrogen (195 kg/ha), available phosphorus (26.63 kg/ha) and available potassium (134 kg/ha). Experiment was laid-out in split-plot designand replicated thrice. Main-plot included three crop establishment methods, viz. dry direct-seeded rice (DSR-dry), wet direct-seeded rice (DSR-wet) and puddled transplanted rice (TR).

An experiment was conducted to find out the effect of integrated nutrient management on nutrient concentration and uptake of Grafted tomato during 2017-2018 at Central Horticultural Experiment Station (Aiginia), Bhubaneswar with inorganic and organic nutrient sources. The experimental results of grafted tomato with INM package showed that Nutrient content of fruit was higher in non-grafted tomato than grafted tomatoes. Whereas, in harvested plant sample nutrient content was higher in grafted tomato.

The microbial biomass of soil is being increasingly recognized as a sensitive indicator of soil quality. Its knowledge is fundamental for sustainable environmental management. This study aimed to determine the impact of different land uses (forest, pasture, and agricultural lands) on soil microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen using the chloroform fumigation extraction (CFE) method.
