Ebook "Halogenated heterocycles: Synthesis, application and environment" structures contain at least two different atoms as members of a saturated, unsaturated or aromatic ring, which forms either a simple monocyclic compound or a part of a larger structure of fused rings. Equally, halogenation is a similarly broad field and both topics are interwoven within these chapters.

The application of SBR in the treatment and nutrient recovery of sludge from the ISF can be a potential technical alternative to current technologies in the management of sludge. The objective of this study was to evaluate the removal efficiencies and recovery performance of nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus (P) in sludge from the intensive whiteleg shrimp ponds under different sequences of react periods (aerobic/ anoxic).

In the present study, the effects of different dietary protein levels on salema porgy, Sarpa salpa (Linnaeus, 1758) juveniles were investigated. As a result, S. salpa demonstrated better growth with low protein diets, showing that this marine fish could be a promising candidate for a sustainable and environment friendly aquaculture industry.

The experiment was conducted to study the effect of different air pollution (ozone O3, sulfur dioxide SO2, and nitrogen dioxide NO2 gases) on Eruca sativa Mill. at three locations in Riyadh city, KSA. During the study, we found that the concentrations of gases were increasing gradually at the study sites.

In nitrogen treatment with biological methods, nitrite metabolism is an intermediate process that facilitates other processes involving different bacteria strains. In this study, we isolated two nitriteoxidising bacteria strains from abattoir wastewater and wastewater from biogas tanks of an industrial pig farm in Ha Tinh province.

Analysis of multiple equilibria of compounds with different coordination sites is extended to the description of adsorption isotherms with focus on the low relative pressure range. The entropy evolution is described using the particle distribution theory which also holds for adsorbents consisting of materials bearing more than one type of sites and applies for the condition that the adsorptive-adsorbent binding strength is larger than the adsorptiveadsorbate binding strength, so that monolayer coverage is favored.

Genomes are composed of long strings of nucleotide monomers (A, C, G and T) that are either scavenged from the organism’s environment or built from metabolic precursors. The biosynthesis of each nucleotide differs in atomic requirements with different nucleotides requiring different quantities of nitrogen atoms.

The obtained results showed that the irrigation treatments (3 events) gave the lowest values for water consumptive use, grain, straw, biological yield and 1000-grain weight. Nitrogen fertilizer in ammonia up to 90 kg N fed1 decreased all characters studied except grain yield which has no any significant differences between both N levels.

Soil type is a vital determinant of soil fertility because of its characteristic biological, chemical, and physical properties. However, the soil fertility of upland soil is probably changed by different agricultural management practices regardless of soil type. This study investigated the features of soil fertility (bacterial biomass, total carbon (TC), and total nitrogen (TN)) in upland fields in Japan. One thousand soil samples from different soil types were collected from upland fields located on 36 prefectures in Japan.
