A field experiment was conducted during kharif, 2018 at Agricultural College Farm, Bapatla to study the phenology and various weather health indices of pearlmillet grown under different spacings and dates of sowing. The crop sown on 2nd fortnight of July accumulated maximum growing degree days, photo thermal units, heat use efficiency, helio thermal use efficiency and photo thermal use efficiency whereas the highest helio thermal units were recorded under 2nd fortnight of August sowing to attain different phenological stages till maturity.

A field experiment was conducted to study the performance of five wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes at two different sowing windows under irrigated condition during rabi season of 2016-2017 in Peninsular Zone at Experimental Research Farm, MACSAgharkar Research Institute, Pune (MS).The experiment was laid out in a split plot design with three replications. The treatment consists of five wheat genotypes viz. DBW 168, MACS 6478, MACS 6222, GW 322 and UAS 304, were sown during two sowing windows, as timely (45 SMW) and late (48 SMW).

The field experiment was conducted at Research farm of Department of Agricultural Meteorology, college of Agriculture, Parbhani during kharif 2017 to study the performance of maize hybrids (Zea mays L.) under different sowing windows. The experiment comprised of five dates i.e. 25th SMW, 26th SMW, 27th SMW, 28th SMW and 29th SMW as main plot treatment with two maize hybrid viz. H1 (PIONEER-3501) and H2 (MONSANTO-9126) as sub plot treatments and replicated thrice. Factorial Randomized Block Design, gross and net plot sizes were 6.0 x 5.0 m2 and 4.8 x 4.

Application of Lambda cyhalothrin 5EC@ 1.0 ml l-1 for two different varieties under four sowing windows produced significantly higher values of growth characters i.e. Initial (4,43,618) and final (4,41,482) plant population, plant height (60.96), number of branches plant-1 (8.94), number of leaves plant-1 (19.48), leaf area plant-1 (14.80dm2 ), leaf area index (6.58), dry matter accumulation (18.04) resulting in significant increase in pod numbers and grain yield during the years 2013 and 2014 as compared to unprotected conditions and delayed sowing windows.
