Mulberry leaves contains (g kg-1 on dry matter basis) 163 g kg-1 ash, 201 g kg-1 crude protein, 120g kg-1 crude fibre and chemical analysis indicated highest crude protein and the lowest non digestive factor contents (22.3 and 31.1% dry matter, respectively) among the four forages tested. The caloric values were calculated as 241.05 Kcal./100g.

The experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2017-18 at experimental block of Murjhad farm, College of Agriculture, Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, India to evaluate yield and quality parameters of rabi season forage crops. The treatments consisted of four crops i.e. sole oat, sole makkhan grass, sole local rye and sole berseem in a randomized block design with seven replications. The analysis of data indicated that dry matter content, green fodder yield, dry fodder yield and digestible dry matter yield were highest in case of makkhan grass over other crops.

The experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2016-17 at Fodder Agronomy block of Instructional Dairy Farm (IDF), Nagla of the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, India to correlation study between quality traits and yields of fodder obtained from intercropping systems. Randomized block design was used with four replications consisting of 10 treatments as detailed in materials and methods.

Theoretical training starts with an explanation of the digestive system of ruminants and how ruminant animals are different from non-ruminants. Diagrammes of the diges- tive system of ruminants in power-point slides as well as video clips on the digestion and absorption of different nutrients is also shown during the training. The session on animal feeding includes name, identification, class of feed, major sources of nutrients, i.e. energy and protein, dry matter content, palatability, digestibility, intake etc.
